Yeah, we miss him like crazy! He was an amazing man

This was a bit helpful in understanding my new old Onsrud. A fellow cabinet builder and custom woodworker, in his late 70’s was finally retiring and I bought the entire contents of his shop. The router is missing the motor, but he has a 3 1/2hp Porter Cable motor to go in it. I hope to get it running soon. Thanks

I'd never seen an inverted router before. Very cool - I bet that was quite the upgrade when you first bought it! I enjoyed watching it work - thanks! And now I crave the rest of the story on the old mortuary!

It was a fantastic upgrade. We love this machine. We'll share the mortuary story soon. Thanks again so much.

This has been a very informative video, I see one for sale, but has no router with it, I will have a look at it and figure it out, great American machine, I have an 1978 Williams and Hussey planer moulder, another unique piece of American history, it was brought into Ireland by a chap that worked in the USA for a few year's, and I purchased it from him, great little machine.

This is far safer than a overhead router. And dust extraction is very good. I have the vacuum hold down system on my system. I make knife handle scales as well on my Onsrud. Nice to listen to you talk about your history.

Agreed, it really is a safe machine. Thank you for watching...

I have a Craftsman tabletop router I use for chamfer edges on signs.. Cant I use the spiral bit to do the same thing instead of running a hand held router to do the same? I wold have to secure the router table down , I would think.

Could I do that with a normal router table?
@oldave1004 жыл бұрын
It's possible, but you would need add the pneumatic cylinder.
@bobt25224 жыл бұрын
You can buy a pin router arm for your router table, but it does not retract the pin or the cutter. Those a significant features of this machine.
@bobt25224 жыл бұрын
I had not heard of Onsrud until earlier this week when I saw a similar router at an equipment auction. It is too big for my needs.
