This is one of those videos that I feel could be shown across any service type industry as a means of training its experts or people with high levels of knowledge at their trade. The finding out where they are coming from vs them finding out where you are coming from to build trust is something we sometimes do intuitively but when we don’t we wonder what went wrong. A great pice of advice to keep in the front of our approach. I’m in the design industry. Came here looking for fitness knowledge and walked away with job attitude inspiration. Thanks Dave!

As a trainer I think that every trainer should hear this loud and clear.

Dave is sooooo right !!! I wanted a quick fix . Sometimes getting what you want , is really getting what you need , which can be totally different . It’s taken my coach and I about a year and a half to dial me in. I’m over 50 and I can’t make big weight jumps in the big lifts . I’m glad I stuck it out and tempered my mind set . I’m where I need to be and I’m making great progress .,hard work on days I felt like shit physically and mentally and didn’t want to work out , but I worked out nonetheless . Consistency is key and developing proper form ... it works 👍🏻

Anthony Luisi awesome story. I started putting fitness back in my life at 53. Now 60 it’s still part of my everyday thinking. Dave is right at the beginning you see quicker results. Then when you hit the point that your body likes to be suddenly your “gains” flatline. I figured out this was okay and that now my “gains” are mostly small but more important that I have made this a big part of my life. How I eat, sleep and help others with it if they are interested. Good for you and keep it up!

I always love hearing stories from people about my age who find that it’s never too late care about yourself. Life kind of gets involved with our careers, kids, and whatever else we think is important. It’s a big confidence boost when we start to like ourselves again and take a bit of time each day to concentrate on it. Plus I have inspired my kids to not wait until later to think about it. That has been very rewarding. Keep pushing and enjoy the ride.

Keep coming back to this video because I’m training my best friend and when Dave mentions form I laugh a bit bc my friend didn’t even know how to properly hinge and in two months he’s deadlifting with solid form but when it comes to squat everything goes right out the window but when he does goblet squats it all clicks to him😭 but this video is super helpful

So what you’re saying is Don’t over think it. You have to work hard. Work harder than last time. The industry is full of lies. Hmmm. I guess dr Greg piano was right.

If you’re lucky enough to be trained by Dave, and you “don’t believe” what he’s saying, you obviously have no idea what kind of privilege you have.
