Top of the line drumming masters. I'm a little partial to Steve Gadd, he played with Clapton for about 20 years, but in his 'spare' time he plays with some of the best jazz bands. He's the one with gray hair and jumping around a bit, and the red colored drum.

Buddy Rich used to guest appear on Johnny Carson, and was, at one time, the best-known drummer in the solar system. My own tribute song to him, I called "Rich Buddies". He played in our fair city of Charlotte, North Carolina, back in the '80s I guess it was, maybe late '70s. (I am unstuck in time.) It was "Arts in the Park" at Freedom Park, on a stage with a moat, beyond which rises Hippie Hill, where people go to be naughty, amid the trees. Buddy does this thing where he opens and closes his hi-hat cymbals, with one hand, whilst whacking them with a stick, with the other. The effect is most unusual. But even without that, this was a breathless, exuberant celebration of the heights of percussive genius. Multumesc!

I saw Buddy Rich and his band at Disneyland in the early 70s. I was only 10 but already a rock fan so very impressed with his jazz style and chops. Also saw Tommy Row (Dizzy) and Paul Revere and the Raiders (Kicks) during other Disneyland visits. Journey/Blondie late 70s was my first concert with friends.

I played drums for 20 years and am very familiar with all the legends. Weckl is my all-time favorite. Vinnie and Steve are two of the greats all-times as well.

They are all monsters of their craft. I saw Steve Gadd with Chick Corea and John John Scofield and saw Vinny Colaiuta with Frank Zappa. They all have different styles, but they are incredible players.

You need to react to Buddy Rich, the impossible drum solo. He was the the all time best, even in his late 60s. On a level all his own! There was Buddy and tben the rest.

Fun Fact Dominika :) ...Steve Gadd is on David Gilmour's latest album and the guy who was taking instruction from DG on how to shake the bells on the song 'The Pipers Call' that you both reacted to

This guys are all fusion drummers. Vinnie did a lot of session work, but think he got famous with Frank Zappa.
