I have rediscovered the joys of driving this car after bailing out of it when I got out of my Rookie license.. it's such a challening car.. it reminds me of a Supercar in a lot of ways..

Try upshifting before screen pops white - when you have red dots, you should achieve better acceleration.

Good race Dave. I started racing the Ringmeister series a couple seasons back after watching you race the CTS-V there. Been racing the series almost every week since (buying cars I normally wouldn't bother with, haha) and it's always a good time. It's felt like coming full circle now, being back in the Caddy. Raced it three times this week so far. Victim of other people's problems on the first two, but kept out of the wrecks on the third one :) Cheers, Sev PS - I did notice the repair times on those first two races were like 30+ minutes, after the tow. Seems like any kind of hit in the front-end now and it's bye-bye powerplant :)

I got into simracing because, living in Australia, my dream of going to the Nordschleife and driving a car is almost 0 without investing thousands upon thousands. Now i'm daunted by even trying to learn the damn thing on iRacing. I know I need to bite the bullet and just do it but there's so much to learn with actually driving without throwing in a 25km track. 😅

If iRacing would improve the sound of the Caddy it would be even better. Watched them race in the old Speed World Challenge at Road America and you could hear them at T1 while sitting in Canada corner. Sounded like a NASCAR stock car.

I think IR removes sun shine from the races to make it easier for PCs to run while having to process the other drivers around in a race. Happens when racing but not in practice

Great race and quali time Dave - I’m in the high 6:50’s so a lot of room for improvement- I’d found I was losing the back end on turn in sometimes - from reading the comments I’m guessing I’m changing down too early? I’ll be rewatching this for tips! 😅
@davecamytАй бұрын
You can use the engine to slow you down a little in the faster stuff when you have the down force, but going down to 2nd leave it as late as possible and use the brake to rotate. Pretty much downshifting just before you're about to get on the gas 😁

The Cadillac was the car that made me realize the cars that are more difficult to learn to drive end up being the most fun when you get the hang of it. Driving the Porsche Cup car after getting good with the Cadillac was also a breeze. It makes something like the GR86 super boring to drive

the hardest thimg for me in this car is the downshifts, the front wheels do weird things when downshifting

You seem to have a tendency to apex a little too early for the last bend onto the Dottinger. You'll probably benefit from a slightly later apex especially that particular bend. Other than that, good stuff! 👍

How is it possible to make corner entry at 52.9% brake bias with fixed setup? I found it very understeery at 6:50’s. After tuned it down to 51.4% the car is more willing to rotate and I could hit 6:48’s, but have no idea where the improvements are.
