Hi Dave, That was an extremely interesting video. Great job on the office building. Also all the little items you showed are the items that add realism and bring the layout alive. In your previous video about the competition I was amazed when I saw you standing in the loft was the number of roof supports. The fact that they are never in view when you are videoing your layout is a testament to your photography skills. It can`t be easy to video the layout and avoid having the roof supports intrude on the vision we see. So a big congratulations is warranted. Cheers Greg

That Office Building has become a Masterpiece in it's own right Dave...excellent work. That Class 40 in it's weathered form looks superb, I know you don't like to, but a few of the coaches need slight weathering to match the loco, as it was very unusual to see the odd clean coach during the period you're modelling, never mind a whole train...Keep up this excellent work of yours, it's such an inspiration to all your followers...Regards...Bob

Dave, it must be said you’ve made a great job of the depot building - far superior to anything from a kit. And it is uniquely yours! Are you adding a roof hatch so maintenance staff can get to the vents, etc? Then you could also add a TV antenna which someone will have stuck ip there so they can watch the footy on a weekend, when theres no Managers in...! Love the furniture - really nicely detailed and fitting for such a nicely constructed building. Looks far better to have detail in the rooms, rather than leaving them as a shell. Dean Park and Everard Junction are my two favourite railway modelling channels. If you need any guidance on S&T matters for your masterpiece, please message me. I am now retired after 41 years on the railway.

If only the DCC class 40's sounded that good. The weathering is very good on that model yes. The dirt on the sides looks like a lot of those locos ended up in their last years. Fantastic work as usual Dave and I think that Class 40 is right at home on the layout mate. Just a wee question for you mate. Would the new Hornby Class 60 as 60015 in Triple-Grey BR Construction fit in on the layout? Or would that be too late for the time period? As far as I am aware, the first of the Class 60's that was handed over to British Rail was in July 1989. That roof really does look grand and I respect you for the excellent modelling. I am going to a model railway show in Belfast tomorrow, so my video will appear on my channel tomorrow night or Sunday if you wanted to see it mate. I have been doing quite a lot of videos this month in terms of model trains and September is going to be epic as well for my channel as towards of the end of next month. @@DeanPark No problem mate. As a matter of fact this model railway exhibition will be my first ever video. I am pleased that the BR Class 60 will fit in and a Petroleum one would be grand as that would represent the Grangemouth-Preston oil train as I vaguely remember seeing them going through Kingmoor when I visited Carlisle just the once at 9 years old and then passing through it again in 1998 when I was chasing Class 47's all over the country. Matthew Stamp it was to designate the type of train, for example was it a ballast train, express passenger, running light engine etc.
@mtty1988
@mtty1988 5 жыл бұрын
DaveClass47 I know that but don’t no why they needed to know. All I can think it was for the speed to be fast slow so and length. Unless it was to let signallers know if that was the correct train expected ie if it was a express they would know to alter the points for that ie if it was faster than the slower train or a train was late. As trained looked same or mixed use. Now a days it’s all fixed formation so you can’t tell the class in advance so you know what it is. Plus it is digatily displayed as well.

Why not just use fine grade sand paper for the roof instead of faffing around with sand? And make the down pipes out of Slaters 2mm plastic tube, cut some thin strips of plasticard or fine cardboard to fabricate the downpipe collars and fixings. Sharpen up the edges of your brickwork with 45° angles. The blinds however are awesome

Steve Jeffryes I have to be very precise and get close to my office when fitting precision parts such as the door frame, down pipes etc. so I can do it in camera if you don’t mind close ups of my head in the way? Or my hands covering the tiny pieces of material I am handling.... trust me that’s not fun to watch either. I did some of the roof parts on camera. And watch the step by step I did on a kit... this wasn’t static. Very much the opposite. The video is a good balance between ‘static’ and active content, along with moving shots of the loco. Thanks for your feedback and I hope my reply addresses your views. Cheers
