Evening Dave. Just what the doctor ordered a an update on Dean park 👍🏻 The 08 looks fantastic too 😊 Since I've been furloughed from work I've made a start on my layout after a three of absence 🙁 It's through you Dave, Charlie, Richard and others on KZbin have given me inspiration to make a start. So a big thank you 😊 Cheers Stevie 😎

I have always liked to watch your channel. To me, and this is only my opinion, your layout is by far the best detailed, the, best modelled and is a great example for others, to follow. They can see what can be achieved with time and patience. I have not entered your competition as I live so far away. I wish everybody all the best. Stay Safe and Take care. These are dangerous times. Martin. (Thailand)

What a talent. As an artist I see the art in everything. I see in shapes and colours and you sir are a real artist. To create this with your own hands is quite incredible. I couldn’t do this. I’m starting my own layout too. I got my 1986 midnight freight train set and my night mail both by Hornby and ordering loads of track. I’m so excited and your videos excite me even more to get started. Thank you for sharing your amazing videos my friend. 👍

I`m always stunned by your scratch building how everything improves yet blends perfectly with the previous builds. The 08 just looks mint and not a usual sound loco lover i gotta say the 158 is 100% improvement in quality, clarity and volume yet does not blast your ears off, keep the mint work coming cheers ken.

Another superb update Dave, you've certainly been very busy since the last one. Some fine weathering on your locos, although the coupling rods on the 08 I feel could so with a little more dirt as the yellow seems to distract from the otherwise excellent results. The improved speaker in the 158 certainly has improved it over the original Bachmann unit, so thanks again for producing another one of your superb updates...Bob

Good afternoon Dave. Another great video. You have been busy in March. The warehouse looks great. and the new factory I expect will be the same. The new speakers in the class 158 make a huge difference. All in all, everything you show in the video qualifies Dean Park's tag line. Please remember to keep "Your physical or social distance". "And to wash you hands". "And do not touch your face". Sorry. I can imagine you are tired of hearing it, as we in Canada are, but it works. Stay safe in your loft and keep working on the layout. I am patiently waiting for your next video. Take Care.

I wondered when a shunter would make an appearance. Always had a soft spot for these little locomotives. My brother has unearthed all our old catalogues, his with the green loco on which I always fondly remember flicking through, was Triang/Hornby issue 18 (1972) - the loco, not a Deltic as I thought it might be, but a Type 2 Co-Bo diesel/electric with Condor emblazoned on the front. In researching that, there's even a film out there of the artist, Terence Cuneo, painting the real thing sitting on the lines. My catalogue, issue 32 (1986), had a shunter I always wanted, listed as R.803 and numbered 08938, was coloured in a kind of Railfrieght livery, but it was the little Scottie dog which caught my eye. This even when I was a lad of 16, down here in Norwich, my fondness was for all things Scottish. Some fond nostalgia looking through these pages of days gone by. Never got that shunter, ended up with a hideous Lima/blue thing in the end, he says, heading off to eBay 😆

Layouts looking great, the gronk has arrived. That's just adds even more realism to the depot. The 158 sounded a helluva lot better with new speaker but they killed the 47/7 push pull and trans pennine turns, so I tend to screw my face like I'm eating a lemon when I see one. Nothing personal to you or the layout. That new build is gonna be even more work, your quest for realism knows no bounds lad. A really top effort with the competition. Hats off to you Dave. Your layout brickies must be earning a fortune, they do the most consistently beautiful work. Over the generations. 17:16 Close couplings, but still no corridor connectors - grrrr. The new low-relief buildings for the back of the DMU are really great and add to the 'realism' so much. And of course its nice to see your running 'interludes'. I can't help scanning them now, trying to see if your wee 'armless man will show up again. I'm still only up to 5 sightings though. "Doh!"

Great bit of low relief work - especially the down pipe with the kink to bring it back to the wall - perfectly modelled. Class 08 superbly weathered by TMC - I picked up a Class 33 in N gauge from TMC at model rail Scotland, the work they do is fantastic - even down to the bits of rust patches on the model. With the warehouse at the beginning, I would put some black weathering powders at the bottom of the brickwork, as a building that is close to a line with diesel locomotives running on, you would expect to see exhaust fumes hitting the wall and changing the brickwork colour, also maybe add a bit of graffiti as you may expect that on that type of building/area it is in.. But then your warehouse could be a work in progress Love the 08 class still my favorite train.

Another brilliant update. I see you've been making good use of our current predicament. Lot's of work done. I think that weathered shunter might be my new favourite of your rolling stock; it just looks amazing. Your latest building project looks to me like it might turn out to be your best yet. A popular KZbinr made a post on Twitter recently, recommending channels for others to watch on KZbin since so many are at home currently; I replied to it and recommended yours among a few others, and I've just noticed another big KZbinr (*20 million+ subscribers*, big!) has left a comment here today, so hopefuly it might increase traffic to the channel and bring more subscribers. You really don't need to be part of the scene to enjoy this type of content, and I do hope more people come to watch. All the best. David. **Edit** - Sorry, I was briefly taken in by what is actually a fake duplicate account mimicking/scamming from a larger KZbinr. I wasn't aware this was a 'thing'. It seems there's a lot of this happening just now because KZbin haven't the normal staff levels currently to deal with it.

Back scene low relief buildings look great, unique to your layout, will you do external lighting on the factory, above loading door? Your skills are becoming legendary, along with Everard. Thanks again for the amazing competition Dave.

Brian Elder cheers Brian. Not decided about the lighting yet. It’ll have internal lights for sure. I’m working from a couple of photos of similar style depot buildings. So it’s just a case of taking each part at a time. The lockdown is hampering the factory build now as my self designed windows cannot be laser cut just now... the guy who does them is unable to get to his work :-( but I’ve plenty to do for now :-) Dave

G'day Dave from Australia, I would like to get in touch with you as I'm very amazed by your layout, subscribed from the first video I watched of your channel when you built the caravan park, I'm only 14, I know not many of us teenagers admire the hobby but it would be amazing to get in touch with you as you are one for the books, cheers Shane,

Hi Dave, Another great update. Your layout really is one of the best there is. If you don;t mind can I ask two quick questions. Is there a specific reason you use MDF rather than say 2mm mount board that is used by a lot of people, and can you cut the MDF with something like a Stanley knife. Thanks. Stay safe and well. Best wishes from Manchester.

Another fantastic informative video. If I could ask your opinion. I'm back in the hobby cause of videos like this and am planning one. Won't be as big as yours and the main part will be a grand station. How many lines would you recommend so doesn't look over kill as Base board is 3foot wide and if possible want road leading to it.

Unfortunately Westhill wagon wirks does not offer delivery out of the UK... I am based in Belgium so I am quite frustrated with it... would you know if there is another shop selling those with delivery available to EU countries ? I really want to tey them for my rakes of coaches as it would be cheaper and even more discreet than kadee couplings. Thanks in advance. Oh, and by the way, i really finf your warehouse amazing. Can't wait to see more of your scratchbuilding works.

@@WestHillWagonWorks Thanks for the information. I'll be sure to order next week as I really want to test this now I've seen on your video how it's easy to install and how well it performs... Also I'm in the process of designing an adapter for NEM couplers to add to OO gauge wagon and carriages as well as on locomotives that are not factory equipped like old production (i have for example old Lima as well as Airfix GMR locomotives I really want to keep but with the added benefit of having the Kadee coupler installed way easier than with the usual n° 5. When the prototype is done, I'll let you know how it works and if it's to be put on the market (it'll depend on the response of the modellers here in Belgium for it as they are mainly used to the classic Symoba system that requires quite an amount of fiddling to install, specially on locomotives, where a system using the natural flexibility of the materials to ensure the elongation of the coupler's arm as used by Bachmann is better, but the Bachmann system I think work only for short vehicules where I want mine to be usable with both small vehicules and bigger ones like bogie coaches.)

What height of ID backscenes do you use? Is it the 9" or 15". Love the videos, giving me some great inspiration and techniques to try.

Great update , your layout is looking amazing . Love the whole look of the depot , nice job 👍 Also with your Bachmann class 158 , mine is the same as yours . I’ve programmed it and it’s jerky when it starts off , it’s in a high speed step (126) but I haven’t run it in yet , literally just put on track so to test late last night. Any ideas why , is there a cv I can change. First off I will fully run it in and see if that does it today. It’s weird it’s fine when it’s running, just starting off and stopping abruptly .

Hi, thats strange. Is it a sound fitted one? You really want to give it a running in for a long time to see if it solves it. If this doesnt work, I would try chaning over the decoder to see if that is the culprit? Run it in DC mode to see if its the decoder? Dave
@AmeryJunction

DaveClass47 yeah it’s sound fitted , not sure what was wrong run it in 1 hour each way and still was the same . So reset decoder fully and then re programmed it and is all fine now . Thanks for replying 😎👍
