Good job on the detail. We used to climb on the building sites as kids. They looked just like your model. We'd even jump off onto the sand. I have finally started my WWI layout.

Hello David, I just wanted to let you know that you and Richard from Everard Junction have been an inspiration to me to "attack" a new hobby. I am close to 70 years old but have already purchased and built multiple buildings. I do not have too much space in the apartment in which I live, so at the moment I have concentrated on a diorama. Hopefully next year I will find space for a 160 * 90 cm n scale layout. So thank you again for inspiring me.

Hi Ian. It is wonderful to think that I have been an inspiration to you and that you are attacking a new hobby. I feel very proud that the work I do on Dean Park is useful to modellers new and old. Thanks so much for getting in touch, good luck with your diorama's and please keep in touch. Cheers. Dave

A great honour for you Dave from Warley, and it's well deserved. After watching this latest production from you, it re-enforces my previous comments as to the fact that Dean Park will stand up to any layout built to the required Warley standard...Congratulations on all counts...Bob

Fantastic attention to detail as always. You are an inspiration to many modellers or would be modellers. The scaffolding on your building site is at risk of collapse however, as there is no cross bracing on the structure. Unable to visit Warley this year but will make sure I am able to attend in 2019. Keep up the good work.

Hi Dave, the building site detail is very good. 2 suggestions, 1,move the portaloo to a more discrete area, 2 sprinkle a little of your real sand on the top of the dumpy aggregate bags. It is looking so professional. Barry.Devon.

Another excellent up date Dave, watching the building site, the fork lift might struggle to get around the site. I have seen JCB's with drop down folk blades which are stored above the front bucket & kept in position when not in use by a couple of large pins. The 47 super looking loco have to check out ABC.
@csxrensville51056 жыл бұрын
The new houses building site looks very good. There are a couple of things though that are not quite right. The Portacabins would be sat on flags to stop them sinking in The mud, as would the steps. Also, the Forklift truck wouldn't be on there. They are designed to work on hard standing. On ground like that it would stuck in mud and unable to lift safely. You need a long jib four wheel steer Cat truck. Sorry if all this sounds perdantic!

Great as work as always Dave. Just an idea for your construction site. Not sure about your job sites over there but here in Australia most job sites will have a shade a cloth with a builders company stamped across it on their temporary fencing. I was thinking maybe you could run some sort of temp fence with make shift shade cloth across the back of the site just to sort of hide the transition of the brown dirty construction site into the green grassy back drop. Just an idea anyway, love your work as always mate. Keep the updates coming

Wow, very interested in 47641, was my last 47 for sight, seen at Glasgow Central! Planned to model this one myself, of interest I think it spent more time at Inverness! If your contact would like to produce another 47641 i'd happily provide the crispy notes and doner 47! Keep up the good work, im constructing an 80's scottish layout but not to your standard!

The Bachmann nuclear flask wagon is great... however the one you have is a little too modern because it has the numbers written on top (these weren't there in the period you model in) and it has OHLE warning flashes. However, it's an easy fix. Use some IPA or T-cut to rub off the numbers from the roof, and spray some matt varnish over the top. I use the same technique in this video, with the exception that I painted the varnish on because it's a small area.
@DeanPark6 жыл бұрын
I knew it was on the cusp of being out of era....I might remove the numbers as you said. It will be getting weathered at some point too. will check out that video! Cheers.

@@DeanPark These two are worth a watch too. Perhaps they'll inspire you to do a little renumbering of your stock for Scottish specific locos/coaches? Hello Dave, I just wondered why you don’t weather any of your locos? Is it just personal preference? Thanks
@DeanPark6 жыл бұрын
Hi, I have some weathered ones, including the new 47 showcased in this video. I also have some wagons and tankers weathered. However there are two reasons I do not currently weather my own locos... 1) I don't have that skill yet and 2) at around £140-160 a model I don't want to screw up the weathering and ruin an expensive model lol. Cheers. Dave
@mattdavies3206 жыл бұрын
DaveClass47 Thanks Dave, I’m thinking the same! I’d be scared to ruin any of them! Your skills are brilliant and the layout is one I really aspire to I watch every video you make for hints and tips. Keep up the good work!
@DeanPark6 жыл бұрын
hi, yeah its an expensive think to ruin with poor weathering! I have another Q&A video coming early next week, then a special video, followed by a Christmas Running session in the days running up to Christmas day, then another update video (if I have anything done on the layout lol) coming at the end December. So plenty to keep you going lol. Cheers Dave
