I think Internet Co. has failed from keeping Gumi as famous as she was, despite being the second most recognizable voicaloid's voice, Gumi's contents are far behind from Crypton's VBs, no more shows, no more games, no more new voicebanks, so all she has is her unique voice. And yet they dont release her V5 VB, her original song's number decrease slowly from there, and then her V6 is trash. SynthV just saved Gumi's VB but sadly there are not many producers that want to use it as they are far more interested in a robotic way of voice synth.

What's surprising about her English voice bank having good pronunciation is that, from what I've gathered, Nakajima-San can't speak English herself. At least, I haven't found any clips. I've always been impressed with people who may not speak a certain language, but they can sing in it just fine (Rainych being a good example). Just thought that would be worth sharing.

As a person who owns 3 GUMI voicebanks, whose first Vocaloid song was Ten-Faced, whose favorite Vocaloid song of all time is Yowamushi Montblanc/Coward Montblanc, (2nd fav song of all time) and who's had GUMI as their favorite Vocaloid since the age of 11, I thank you for this.

I’m also hopeful that with gumi getting some songs into project sekai she gets introduced to newer fans that way. I feel like vocaloid and other singing synths are definitely swinging back into popularity so it would be great to see it spreading to some old favorites.

Gumi my beloved, back when I was newly fascinated by vocaloid but Miku's voice hurt my ears, Gumi was there with her unique, softer voice and absolute bangers. Now I love all my precious vocasynth children but Gumi will always hold a special place in my heart.

Gumi has the advantage of already having a good english voicebank on top of her japanese voicebank and with vocaloid 6 allowing users to implement both languages onto the same editor (which im sure will make it much easier for producers to implement English into japanese songs and vice versa). I have hope we’ll see her regain popularity through more songs in the future. Especially with games like project sekai featuring songs sung by her. I’m excited for her future

1:24 The reason it’s “poid” instead of “loid” is because in Japanese, Megpoid is spelled like “メグッポイド” (meguppoido) and the “ッポイド” (ppoido) part is a pun on the words “ロイド” (roido/loid) and “っぽい” (ppoi) which means “similar to” or “-like”, making her name literally mean “Meg-like loid” behind the pun! Same thing for Gackpoid and Gachapoid.

GUMI's voice is incredibly versatile. I was so used to her in pop songs and loved her being used by Hachi and MachigeritaP when I was younger but I am really enjoying her in metal as I got older. Undeniably my favorite voicebank. Her GUMI AI hasn't really captured me because I truly enjoy her without the extra effects to her voice. I am sad she's not as popular but the Western audience love her and she's excellent with English songs.

I still find it hard to believe that ECHO has the second most views of any vocaloid song, and people still don't know thst the characyer in the video has a name, lore, and features in a lightnovel based on the song, which also has an english translation. I wonder if you can do a breakdown of Kaai Yuki, I literally never heard of her before and after Inabakumori popularity spike suddenly a lot of vocaloid producer has been using her more and more too. Nulut and Balloon was pretty suprising for me in Miseen, I thought they would only stuck to Flower, Miku and Gumi but that wasn't the case.

Well, Gumi is carrying the Vocaloid 6 software, making her be kinda popular again, I think she will become the new face of Vocaloid and keep Vocaloid alive a little while. Although it was a shame she didn't switch to SynthV or CeVIO AI, I'm curious about how she would have sound. But in part I'm happy at least one character that is very familiar to us Still being what she was, a Vocaloid.

i found gumi through 2 songs called miracle gumiracle, a parody of a touhou song i believe? and I’m Sorry/Gomen Ne, Mosiac roll got me hooked tho ! (the spelling of that song still confuses me lol) but it helps that megumi voiced ranka lee, one of my favorite characters from macross frontier and who has a gorgeous voice in her own right! she is also the reason my nickname online has been guu since i was a teenager❤ I’ll love Gumi forever even if i stopped listening to her as much💚💚💚

I don’t own her V6 but her V4 Japanese complete and V3 English, I think she’s overall versatile and fantastic. I think V6 is great for those who want make Megpoid sing in Mandarin Chinese (YAMAHA added that through update) or sing English with improved smoothness. Her V3 English is well known for lacking vowel to vowel transition altogether and people needing to adjust phonemes to get around it (using semi vowels /j/ and /w/ for example). Her V6 has none of problem what I’ve heard from other users.

Vocaloid 6 also has VocaChanger, which means you can upload a voice file and make the Vocaloid sing in the style of the original singer. TORA_V4 did this with a Gumi AI cover of “All I Want for Christmas Is You”, and man… it sounds amazing.

Disregarding rooting for the underdog, I just really enjoy her voice. Add to that the good English and great English songs and you got yourself a GUMI fan. I so wish she could rival Miku, so that there's some fun on the scene, but I will be happy as long as she survives. However, if I were to imagine that crypton acquired rights to her and promoted her (she still has a following of as we all know), it would make me happy as well.
