There is a Siberian corridor because most of Siberian Natives are Turkic like Yakuts, Tuvans, Khakassians and Altaians. Term of "Turanian Peoples" actially originated From Hungary, its an umbrella term for all Uralic, Turkic, and Mongolic peoples (some times Koreans and Japanese peoples are incluted too) based on Ural-Altaic Language Family theory which very popular one in that times.

About the finnish conquest, in turanist ideology a lot see not only the direct turkic peoples, like the turkmen amd uyghurs as turkic brothers, but also the finno-uyghurs, containing finland and estonia, and also the huns and bulgars, who were both turkic tribes that migrated very early into europe
@gibuswagen7729
@gibuswagen7729 3 жыл бұрын
The problem with Finland being included is that the finns have lived there for at least from 9000-5000 b.c. We have found pottery, axes, and foods dating to that era (which were introduced from the Comb Ceramic culture). The Uralic languages in the region were established during this time. Genetic testing of individuals loving during that time indicate that they were 65% Eastern Hunter-Gatherers with 20% Western Steppe Herders and 10% Western Hunter-Gatherers. Most likely a tribe many years later when Finland, the Baltics, and Karelia was inhabited moved there and started very slowly intermingling with the people there. But even that does not mean they are turkic, since not only are their genetics and culture different, their language is also very different

Magyars and Bulgars were definitly not fully Turkic tribes, they included some but they were not Turkic. For ex Trukic tribes were most likely a majority in Huns when they were in Asia but that does not mean Huns were all Turkic. These are kind of super tribes, containing much smaller and ethnicly diverse tribes such as Turkic tribes, Magyars and Bulgars, tribe that rules gave the name in most cases.

27:10 It is based on the rather dubious historical conception, known as Altaicism, that many Eurasian peoples, such as the Turkic, Mongolic, Finno-Ugric, Korean, and even Japanese and Sometimes Indoeuropean peoples share a common "Altaic" origin (named after the Altai mountains). This theory, however has very little legitimacy in linguistic and history academia outside of Turkey, where it is taught in school as fact, and this the bit about Finland. Hope I was helpful.
@huseyinfurkankardiyen2104
@huseyinfurkankardiyen2104 3 жыл бұрын
Actually, legitimacy of theory is sufficient and evident. I have never heard Japanese included in family but as i know it is accepted that Turkic,Finno-Ugric,Mongolic and Korean share the same origin. It is just a natural process of course, nothing to do with nationalism, seperation roughly started 20k years before i guess.

The concept you are referring to is not actually Altaicism but is the "Uralo-Altaic Hypothesis" which is a theory that suggests that Uralic and Altaic (Turkik, Mongol, and Tungus language groups) languages stem form and common ancestral linguistic macro group. This is theory-based on a very similar linguistic structure (grammar, vocabulary, subject word order, and etc...) of the languages and historical events (such as the Magyar Migration). The dubiousness surprisingly comes recent finding which could indicate that the similarities between Turkik and other Altaic languages are actually cased by constant cultural interchange rather than common linguistic roots, the part where you have mentioned Indoeuropean languages could actually refer to the "sun language theory" which is a separate concept whilst Turan (which is also a separate concept) mostly refers to Pan Turkik Concepts as whole rather than to other Uralo Altaic people/language groups. It is important to note that "Uralo-Altaic Hypothesis", "sun language theory" and Turanism refers to cultural and linguistic aspects of societies rather than anything related to genealogy.

27:10 not made up at all. Turks, Magyars and the Finnish people are a bit related because of their origins. It's messy and complicated topic for a KZbin comment, but let me try to explain: Turks and Magyars (Hungarians) are related through living in common Eurasian society and Finns and Magyars are related through languages that are loosely related and share common features. Magyars were probably were one of the tribes within the Turkic majority Hun peoples and later under Avars and Bulgars. They shared common beliefs and lifestyle with Turks before finally stationing in Hungary. There are many Turkish words from the early period. After that Magyars lived 150 years under the Ottoman empire where a sizable population converted to Islam. Those who converted left Hungary for Turkish territory in the Balkans and Anatolia after the disastrous 1683-1699 war. There are many Hungarian origin Bosnian Muslim families. So there is further kinship during the Ottoman era. There was a sympathy between the two nations in the 19th Century when romantic nationalism was rising. Hungarians were interested in a common Turanian heritage with the Turks when being a Turk at the time was more closely associated with empire building in Europe rather than guest workers in factories. Many Turkologists were Hungarian. More recently all three nations, Turks, Magyars and Finns, and I don’t know why not the Mongolians, are claiming Sumer as an early common past due to surprising common linguistic elements. Probably all of them are right.

Nope, nope, nope. As a Hungarian, I can say, that none of this is taught in Hungary. We are the distant linguistic relatives of the Finns, but we share no blood with the turks. It's true, during the early middle ages, before the founding of the Kingdom of Hungary, when we lived on the steppes we met with turkic peoples, hence the words in our language with turkic origin, but it was only a linguistic exchange, our peoples are not related. During the Ottoman conquest of the 16th and 17th century, no "sizeable population" of Hungarians converted to islam, all Hungarians remained christian, and the war of 1683-1699 was not "disastrous", it was the long awaited liberation of Hungary from Turkish oppression. It's true, during the early 19th century linguists and historans flirted with the idea of Turkic origin, but that idea has been discredited since, and it is now generally accepted that Hungarians are Finno-ugrics, and have no turkic ancestry. And I don't know where you got the idea of common Sumer heritage, that's a theory I have never heard before, probably because it's false.

@@think9747 The theory of a joint origin is pretty unsubstantiated and isn't treated as anything other than a fringe-theory outside of Turkey, where it is actually taught in schools as fact. It's perfectly alright to treat it as a valid theory and to try to gather evidence of it, but it most certainly isn't accepted enough to try to indoctrinate children with it. It's on the same level as teaching Creationism in schools as if it's the only valid theory.

That isn´t true. The Finno-Ugric languages have no close relation to the turkic languages, not even to the altaic languages as a whole, and the bulgarians definitely ain´t Turks (they´re slavic, if you meant the ancient Bulgarians, they were at least part of the turkic language family, note the difference between "Turkish" and "Turkic".) Also the altaic languages are a very loose group of just barely related languages, so Turks, Koreans and Japanese are only "brothers" if you consider all the Indogermanics to be "brothers" as well.

great content as always . Finland migrate from the east asia in 6th - 8th century, which is the same time and origin as the turkic tribes migrating the europe. Some people say Finnish and the Turkic people are from the same origin. (Thats an opinion, dont roast me!!)
@mlgsty8880
@mlgsty8880 3 жыл бұрын
6th century means years of 500-600 AD right? Its confirmed that us Finns were here at least pre 1100 BC (likely that before) as people started to move from Volga river upwards sometime during 2000-1300 BC. Ties to the people living in the area where original "Finno-ugrics" lived were almost dead by the 6th century and there were 3 tribes called "Suomalaiset", "Hämäläiset" & "Karjalaiset" who lived inside modern day Finland. About common origin of Finno-Ugrics and Turkic is hard to tell as too little information exists about it, we can only assume they lived as neighbors each other once thousands of years ago.

I feel so dumb... every game rushing reconciliation (let's be real nobody does historical focuses lol) and trying to integrate them, losing 800 pp and so much time & effort, this is way easier lol. The Fin-Ugor thing: Fins, Turks and Hungarians come from the same roots, same goes for their languages, from Central Asia (Turkestan) which is why Finnish alphabet looks pretty similar to Gokturk alphabet (one of many alphabets which were used by Turks throughout history) .

Did you ever use something I'd like to call "preemptive invasions"? Taking an army and giving it lots of empty naval invasion from a harbour that's gonna be used for that purpose, then redoing the invasion plan targets when they are actually gonna be used and add troops. They will immediatly be ready to launch if prepeared long enough ahead of time. I find it especially useful for repeatedly invading Italy but I'm pretty sure there are other uses.
