Wow! This story of 70 year old female is identical to my story except for the Hashimotos and CAC score, mine was 0. I took myself off of statin, cholesterol went way up then 6 months later it came down on Carnivore diet. A1C is normal and I feel amazing. Told Dr. I will continue with my diet choice because it is my choice.

Thank you. I received a CAC with contrast score of zero 1 year after going low carb. My LDL went up but trigs down and HDL increased. I am 67 and metabolically healthy now. Very thankful that I have a benchmark.
@boomerang6130Ай бұрын
What were you eating prior to keto? What was your CAC before you began eating like this?
@jobrown8146Ай бұрын
@@boomerang6130 I am NOT attributing my zero CAC to being low carb. Prior to going to low carb I was eating whatever I liked but not much meat/protein. I was actually very surprised at the zero CAC score because I had been overweight then obese since about 1990. I went low carb in October 2021 after being diagnosed with diabetes which was successfully remitted in less than 3 months. I had been diagnosed with fatty liver in the early 2000s.

@jobrown8146Ай бұрын
@@boomerang6130 Basically meat, bacon, eggs, some low carb veggies (zzuchini, avocados, onion, garlic, brussell sprouts, broccoli and cauliflower), butter, a bit of cream and milk, coconut milk and coconut cream. Because I've had stop the cheese, tomatoes and mushrooms I've added in a little bit of carrots and beetroot just for a bit of a flavour change.

Use CIMT instead of CAC and CT Angiogram, to understand the risk for soft plaque.

Not always. My CIMT was perfect but my CAC and 2 Cleerly reports show a lot of plaque. CIMT is very good with the right operator.

The beginning of this video has a banner asking whether low carb can reverse heart disease, it's a good question but I don't see any relevance in the videos content? I was waiting for the moment her mom went low carb and dropped her high CAC to 0. The title of the video also claims a 'shocking truth about low fat diets and heart health', yet the presenter admits her mother ate SAD 'low fat', which is likely a combination of refined carbs with refined fats. She also ate commited Atkins for a while, yet of course that is not being implicated in her disease.

It was a great video, but you're right, it needs a different title.

Yes. Inconclusive.. It progressed to estrogen therapy or changed the hospital to get new score. Undermined keto

Peeps - the shocking truth is that we've all been lied to! Statins and low fat diets do NOT prevent heart disease yet it is the standard of care. Cholesterol and saturated fat are not our enemy. Atherosclerosis is caused by glycation. This is why diabetes is the number one risk factor for CVD.

Its hard to find a good explanation. But, there might be some reasonable reasons for not being entirely truthful. For one, people tend to already have strong opinions on diet and rarely want to be told what to eat. And two, if you go against the established view on diet and you are wrong you can be sued and end up paying for damages.

Clearly high cholesterol is the bodies attempt to `heal` so i can see a statin in such a case might be harmful
