There are maybe 30 interviews that will eventually be catalogued as having incredible insights into Tesla’s progress and eventual dominance allowing us to finally transition from fossil fuels to renewal energy. This is one of them. Thanks to Dave for well-honed questions and to Sandy for expert insights not available from anyone else.

@@addohm I love sandy and I think he has his hand on the pulse of ev tech but to say he's a driving force is probably a bit strong. I believe he's contributing but even he himself says that most of the OEMs won't listen to him. He truly is a beauty though. I enjoy what he has to say this is all just my opinion though. Not worth much lol

Who would have thought Dave Lee would be the most interesting thing on the internet? Well done Dave ! Your content is changing from interesting to essential viewing!
@andrewsaint65812 жыл бұрын
@@Harryandleo versatile too. The hour+ long stuff used to be a pass due to limited time. Working six long days and choosing, meant more but varied vids fit in an hour. I struggle with stuff at double speed as Dave uses. However the shorter, pithier ones got me. He's really hit his stride and mellowed out letting folk talk now, uninterrupted.

Spectacular interview, Dave. I could listen to Sandy Munro for hours. Excited to hear about their EVTOL design. Need to hear more on that! I saw the Amazon delivery eVTOL drone at Oshkosh air show the summer of 2019, and talked at length with them about drone package delivery. That was exactly their plan - drop packages from the local distribution center into the customer's backyard.

That was really impressive and informative. Sandy responds well in a structured interview, he can wander a bit in his tear-down videos on his channel. Dave, kudos to you those questions were so on point! I've watched your channel from time to time, but you have really impressed me here with your interview skills, and I especially want to commend you for your patience letting the complete answer be given. You were seemingly brimming with eagerness to get the next question in as the time remaining grew shorter, yet you let Sandy reply as he would, and I think the unexpected direction the conversation took at the end proves the benefit of your technique. Again, applause for an excellent hour and a half spent here.

Wow, what a gem of an interview! My only regret is that we didn’t had a chance to develop further the concept of ‘ good for the car /bad for the engineer career ’ : somehow I feel it is a huge factor in the lag from legacy OEM and it doesn’t receive yet the coverage it deserves.
@usa-ev3 жыл бұрын
It's definitely a thing. Along the same lines is decision by committee. You can get blamed for a wrong decision, but you can't as easily be blamed for a wrong group decision especially if your boss is on the committee. It's a bad culture and incentive structure. I know of teams of engineers that are not empowered to make any decisions, they only take information to the boss. All of this stems from the fear of making a change that would lead to a recall, which is very costly.
