I appreciate how patient you are with the spiders. Every other KZbinr I have watched who rehouse their spiders are pushing their spiders towards their new enclosure, seemingly not allowing the spider to release their grip on the surfaces. Also, thank you for the great tip about maintaining contact while directing them! I will remember this for when I need to rehouse my own tarantulas.

Absolutely love the way you handled these spiders. I've seen so many keepers - some very popular ones, actually - poke and prod their spiders while rehousing. I strongly believe that the one thing missing with many, many keepers, is 'respect' for the animal. Frankly, even though they may know a lot about them, they have no respect for the animal itself. But on the other hand, you do. Not only are you a wealth of knowledge, but you also respect them for what they are as a species and understand their behavior thereby allowing them to be the unique individuals that they are.

I have been binge watching your videos, they are so educational, and so far the best I've seen on youtube and I've been learning a lot since getting my first 2 Ts...Taking Massage Therapy course has taught me to always maintain contact with my client as to not spook them as they rest, therefore before I move to a different body part I keep one hand on the previous and remove only when my other hand has made contact with the new section... So, the fact that you figured that out with the paint brush is so interesting, and these little beings are just like us in some ways... My slings are in molt, and it's a been nerving. I keep worrying that it's taking too long and I have done something wrong. Their booties are big and shiny but its been a week and still nothing. They laid down the molt web, and refuse to eat. but I can't get any videos to find out the length of normal molting time. I get every species is different and age plays a factor but it still scares me that I'm not providing enough. Water bowl is full, ventilation is not intense, T Chevron is about an inch and Pumpkin Patch in dime size. I live in Canada, and T's are in the basement with normal heat and humidity, I'm comfy so I feel they are lol... If you could do a sling molting video, it would be much appreciated I can't find a lot on it. Thankyou for your amazing knowledge, and humor with Camera Lady lmfao, great team you both are.

I have seen so many people that think they are gentle during a rehouse that actually are not gentile. They man-handle the enclosures or move too fast with the brush. And then the spider ends up kicking hairs. This is usually driven by them being impatient. You have to be very patient and gentle when rehousing. You are doing it at the spider's pace and not your pace.

Am I not right?.. As I always say mate, you gave us another master class video of the how to's when interacting with our spiders, a Calibre of which is unmatched on KZbin... Your channel is my #1 and making me more confident. Question: Do you have issues with your spiders toes getting stuck in mesh lids? Hey Dave maybe you could send this vid to Tarantula Kat to be helpful. Before you react, consider what i'm saying. you're a pro at this, and the way you deal with these guys is really a level above most others. The aforementioned creator is often freaking out, panicking, and stressing the hell out of her spiders with her reactions. Considering they have a very finite life dependant upon their energy reserves, this would be a HUGE benefit to the animals. I know the community is all huggy and super positive and no one wants to admit anyone does anything wrong, but this would really be a huge help and would be really considerate to the welfare of the animals. I think the quality of their lives may be a bit more important than her emotions. I recognize you will probably dislike this comment, but i also know that you love these animals and care about them so it should be said.

Another great video!!! I am new to the hobby and currently have a juvenile GBB. Being new to the hobby I've used everything you recommend and have lost the nervousness and jumpyness I had watching my gf unbox, rehouse, or feed her spiders. And I am able to be really calm when doing weekly maintenance if my tarantula makes any sudden movements ect. And thanks to your great information I've been able to predict my GBB's last 2 molts which I am impressed with due to knowing nothing when I started. So thank you so much for all the time and effort you put into these videos!!!

Superb video Dave I cannot stress enough how helpful these type videos are!! The fact that you rehoused different species with different behaviors is so helpful and the different tactics of moving them into the enclosures gives us an idea of how to deal with the separate species and behaviors. I can’t thank you enough for your knowledge and skills! I would very much like to see a Q&A video as I think it gives us a chance to find out and learn more of what we need to know to keep the magnificent animals strong and healthy throughout their life spans!! Thanks so much Dave I really do appreciate what you do for us!!!🕷

This was an amazing video on rehousing a lot of tarantulas, you do such a lovely job on this, and good job "Camera Lady" on filming it. I just love your channel and can't wait for another video.Be calm, Be gentle, and love your spider. I will remember that when I get one, maybe in a week and one day when I turn 60 lol

This video came at a great time. Watched it and then the next day rehoused our OBT using the principles shown and had a perfect rehouse with no defensive behavior or bolting at all. Thanks for providing such excellent videos!

I am curious though Dave, when it comes to your terrestrial spiders i notice you generally dont use an enclosure with a door. I would think that would make it easier to move them over. Im sure there is a method to your madness but im curious as to why you use one type of enclosure vs another.

I really appreciate you showing these because I'm new to the hobby and have a sling that needs to be rehoused, and I'm nervous about it. He/she went straight into his first enclosure easy, and I did it just like you said, I kept contact and he just walked over. But now, he has a burrow and I'm a little worried about how to get him out. I'm watching you do it and it gives me a little confidence to know I can do it myself. I don't want my husband to help because this is my spider, and I want more, but if I'm afraid of it, he won't want me to get another one. I have a regular old curly hair, about 1.5 inch sling, maybe more if it's diagonal leg measurement, and I don't want to stress him or hurt him or scare him.

What a great video even for ones like me who aren't keepers. I do have to say Thank Goodness you ended up with these guys. The tiny tub that 6th spider was in looked absolutely criminal. I'm so happy for them that they've ended up with you.

I really love daves channel. His channel sticks with the husbandry, experience, overall still entertaining. Seems a lot of the other channels that i used enjoy have lost their way. My go to channels for info are tom moran, tarantula haven, bethany, grindlers, deadly spider girl, petko and even exotics lair.

Hello Dave and Camera Lady. Wow, wow, wow! What a fabulous video! My favorite part of your channel is watching you handle your beasties. I swear they can feel your calm and respond in kind. Question 1: Are there specific behaviours that you watch for to tell if your spiders are healthy? If you do get a sick spider, can they be treated? Question 2: Are there any Metallica babies coming on soon? I would love to see some Metallica slings. They are one of my favorites along with the H. Maculata. Anyway, well done! Bravo! Have a great week. Stay safe and take care y’all. 🤠🙂💖

Really enjoyed watching this dave and you covering a lot in how we handle our spiders for moving them and always to have a plan in place as to what we want to achieve and dealing calmly with things when it's not going to plan and changing it to the spiders best interests but also for theirs and your safety too very good for new keepers and a good refresher for myself too coming back into the hobby to re go over handling different spiders according to their nature's whether arboreal or terrestrial ❤ much love
