One of those neighbors who was on his riding lawn mower cutting his yard is probably worried the old RVs will lower the property values around there and wants to nip that in the bud before any more show up. I doubt it's jealousy over his nomad live style.

I think it's a pretty sad day when someone can't use their property as they see fit, my aunt and uncle lived in a small house and they had a small travel trailer that they would take camping every summer it was parked alongside the house, and once in a while he my uncle would go out to the trailer and have his little TV out there and his newspaper and he'd go out there and sit and watch TV so it wouldn't interfere with the TV in the house with what was playing on it, a cop come and knocked on the door and told him he couldn't stay out there in the trailer well basically he wasn't staying out there in the trailer he was just out there watching his TV and would always come into the house about 10:30 11:00 at night and go to bed, course the police officers stood there and said well you can't stay in the camper all night long my uncle said I'm not staying in the camper all night long but I do like to enjoy my solitude in my camper in the evening times when I feel fit to do so. ! It seems to me like somebody is always got to be up your yin yang telling you what you can and cannot do, when in all reality you're paying taxes on the property that you've got paying taxes for what you do have, yet somebody comes along and tells you what you can and cannot do with your own property that you bought. TOTALLY AGGRAVATING. ! 😡

The ultimate solution is move to the boonies where your nearest neighbor is at least half a mile away. The northeast is where I grew up and people there have way too much time and opportunity to harass others. They think it is their duty to police ordinance conformity. Lots of great places in flyover country, just avoid cities where liberals cluster.

@YahshuaLovesMe2 жыл бұрын
It is not true, it is unconstiutional to deny folks to sleep in/use their private personal rvs on their properties. There is precedence set in Colorado over this, as lots of bureaucraps gone wild butt into your business, and deny your Constitutional Rights and steal from the people. YOU have to educate them. You have a right to have your rv next to a work space temporarily also. Ordinances are not laws anyway, unless these 'laws' are enacted by your State Senate/congress, still it is precedence set, in Colorado, that is an UNConstitutional decree/not a legal law, and so the Judge canceled it. In California our city has police scams hassling people in their RVs, just to steal them, bunch of crooks. California enacted this as a law here, because they were pretending to try to control homeless populations, with stupid fake-fixes, saying there were property owners who were renting sleeping space to homeless people, big deal, but they think they are God and do what they want, but in this case they are dead wrong, they can't. Look it up. And stand your ground. SUE THEM.. He should keep his Bounder, they are priceless.

You could set up a cot in the garage to sleep while you work on your rigs. Also, go to each neighbor and explain what you are doing and maybe the person(s) will understand. Maybe they thought some ill intent was occurring on your friend's property. I would rather have a neighborhood watch than one who does nothing when seeing something going on at my neighbor's home. The police are doing their job by following up and enforcing the law. They are here to serve us and she did just that. I live in the country and we are all very protective of one another and if we see anything that doesn't look right we will call the neighbor and check in on them and if they are not there then we will call the police, which protects us and our neighbors. We count on each other and have our own neighborhood watch system. It works!

We’re so sorry this happened to you, Dave! The same thing happened to us a few Christmases ago in Arkansas. The mayor angrily told us to leave immediately, and law enforcement officers harassed my parents until we decided to just comply to save them from any more harassment. It's the same everywhere. The municipalities think they have the right to the property tax that you would pay if you owned a home or that would be paid on your behalf if you were renting. They do not want folks to live frugally. Even way out in the sticks most places do not allow a person to live in an RV. You could be right in the middle of 20 treed acres and completely invisible, they still won't allow it. It's purely a money grab. Apparently, even down where your friends have property near Williams, AZ, or in surrounding counties, you technically are not supposed to live there in an RV for more than a certain length of time per year, and that is only if you buy certain permits to do so such as solar panel, propane storage, and other types of permits that are required to live permanently on your own property in an RV. We need to start challenging these crazy ordinances in court. It's one thing to say you can't live in an RV in the middle of the city permanently, it's another to say the same thing about living way out of the cities on private land.
