A very interesting walk! Thanks for sharing. I heard that The Ridgeway is believed to have been the first route into Britain, when it was joined to mainland Europe over 8,000 years ago. For at least 5,000 years travellers have used the Ridgeway. It provided a reliable trading route to the Dorset coast and to the Wash in Norfolk.

Very nice walk in the countryside, following a country road, which becomes a small grassy road and then a path. Fields of Rapeseed as far as the eye can see and green fields too, but yellow predominates!!. Very pretty views of the treetops and sky; real lace. A friendly hello from Dave to start; thanks to him. 😀😀😀😀😀

Hi Dave, I have enjoyed a few of your walks but it would be so nice to know where they are in UK and possibly a little narration to point out landmarks etc. I am very fond of Tony Robinsons series and he makes it all the more interesting by stopping at these landmarks and telling the story about it. Just a suggestion.

1:49:25 Why did you prevent that thing from being filmed by pointing the camera at the sky?
@DavesWalks13 күн бұрын
Nothing intentional, was just some piled up sticks from children playing, I thought the treetops were looking particularly beautiful in that moment swaying in the wind.

I noticed a number of ‘shelters’ made out of branches. Do you have Sasquatch in England? Or maybe a prank.
@DavesWalks10 ай бұрын
No sasquatch in England.. That I know of.. The shelters are probably the result of children having fun.

Different question…what kind of crop is that with the yellow flowers?
@DavesWalks10 ай бұрын
The yellow flowers are called rapeseed, they produce an oil that is an alternative to olive oil. Whilst the name is kind of inappropriate, it comes from the Latin word "rapum," meaning turnip which the plant is a relation of.
