This channel should be preserved in a museum. It's that valuable. Dalglish on another planet here. He ran the game.

Legendary team. I remember getting a Liverpool football kit for Xmas and the shirt had N.o 5 on it for Ray Kennedy. I'd forgotten he went on to play for Swansea. When I wore that kit, I was Kenny Dalglish on the top field.

Great video Dave, many thanks. As a Swans fan, looking from our perspective, it was always hard to replicate our finish from the 81/82 season. The one noticeable thing from 82/83 was the dramatic decline in crowds at the Vetch. Proof that we had a fickle fan base down here at the time. Appreciate that during the early 80’s the recession had start to hit and times were hard too. Also what didn’t help us, was the building of the east stand which nearly crippled us as a club, and we took almost 20 odd years to bounce back from that.

These are some really good Liverpool games, not seen before, well done for tracking the down!

If you look at the "coin toss" at the start of the game - you see what a big powerfully built guy Ray Kennedy was, he looks a fair bit bigger and more powerful than Graeme Souness and we all know what a great player Souness was and how intimidating an opponent - it just goes to show the power and athleticism of Kennedy and what a cruel disease Parkinsons is - RIP Ray - A truly great player in his day and very under-rated

Bob PAISLEY clearly was The KING IN KNOWLEDGE also made people aware of EUROPEAN teams interest in RAY. WE ALWAYS LOVED RAY.

He wasn't underrated at all. He played for 2 top teams & trophies of just about everything. He didn't hit it off playing for England & he didn't miss it. He & Liverpool & Arsenal played all over Europe. Who needs England. He was well rated. KZbinrs keep saying under rated for music & sport persons & it's just not true. Sorry pal you may think that but millions don't.

Bob Paisley said of Kennedy “he was one of Liverpool’s greatest players and probably the most underrated.”

I remember watching the whole of Liverpool in the 1977 European cup final. For one spit second I didn't recognise Ray Kennedy and I asked myself 'who the hell is that big fella?' Then it dawned on me how big and athletical Ray Kennedy was. Box to box player too.

McDermott's penultimate appearance. Ray Kennedy playing here too. The football the Reds played was ace.
@DaveWallerLFC2 жыл бұрын
McDermott actually played 2 more games after this. Southampton (possibly coming to a youtube channel near you soon) and Dundalk. I agree that this team played some great stuff.

@@DaveWallerLFC I get the Reds-Southampton connections but a few Pompey games (where Portsmouth win) would be nice.
@DaveWallerLFC2 жыл бұрын
I don't know which connections you mean. I'm just uploading Liverpool games. I have uploaded highlights of both semi-final games from 1992, and brief news coverage of the league game at Fratton Park in 1987/88. I don't think I have any other Portsmouth games.

Ray Kennedy, one of the greats,who died only a few weeks ago: Parkinsonism. That season. Watford 2nd, we were 11 points ahead of them even tho we didn't win any of our last 7 games losing 5 of them!

The return game was 3-0 as well. Grand National Morning in April. A walk in the sunshine. No atmosphere.
