Henry Rollins used to tell a story about he and a friend who sometimes hung out with a well- known homeless person in Washington DC who was referred to as "Crazy Paul", aka "Sky King". Henry said that despite Paul being bipolar, perhaps schizophrenic, he would occasionally say samething that struck them as incredibly profound. After the guy died, a newspaper obituary encapsulated the backstory of the string of tragedies that led to his life unraveling: in the space of a week or so, Paul's mom died unexpectedly, he discovered that his business partner had been not only embezzling from their restaurants, leaving nothing but debts, but had been having an affair with his fiance, and there was something else that went bad as well, and poor Paul had a breakdown. Bad shit can happen to anyone.

Micro Mesh with the foam pad that comes with the metal polish kit version is a great way to polish the rets after level/crown, as well. As for your back, try lying on your back and pull your knees up to your chest as far as you can. Also, try tucking your chin in, while lowering it as far as you can, and that helps loosen the muscles in the lower back. They adaptively shorten when you injure your back. When you lie down, put your heels down, and stretch your spine out. This loosens up the vertebrae and that helps the discs to heal.

(see below) Conversely, I also bought that Notched Straight Edge direct from Neck Check. The price for that was great, BUT - I had to pay Shipping Costs - shipped 1st Class via US Mail. What Dave said regarding not trying this stuff (if you're a rookie like myself) on a guitar you like are wise words. Squiers and other low end guitars can be found all day long for under $100 and are perfect for learning guitar repair and set up. If I don't screw up I have a better playing guitar that I can give away to a kid who wants a guitar. If I do screw it up at least I'll have some extra parts laying around.

heads up to those who have the 22 fret extended fingerboard . it is even more important than usual to humidify your instrument. when those little lips dry out, the curl. I've heard luthiers call this "potato chipping." your 21st and 22nd frets will be high and ruin an otherwise good neck. Humidify!!

Dave, the message you put out in this video really hit home for me. We do have to be good to one another because you just never know who your talking to and what that person has been through up to the point when you talked with them. I had spent a couple days visiting my ailing father several months back and we got the news that he only had weeks if not days left. I went to work literally right after hearing that news. I worked an overnight shift managing a team of support agents for a diabetic insulin pump. So I had to take over a call from one of my people because they asked for a manager. The bottom line was this lady wanted us to do something that I just could not approve in good conscience. Just because she was barking so much didnt mean we could break protocol. Then she went where I never expected her to go. She says "you have no idea what I'm going through and if I die it's going to be your fault" she screamed a few more things about my family and I was just stunned she would bring my family into it. I really didnt know how to respond to her because we had just been given the news about my father, which part of his issues were from diabetes. Anyway, I was frozen for probably a good 2 minutes just speechless. Needless to say her situation did not qualify for what she wanted me to do and I denied her request got her off the phone and probably for the first time in over 20 years I had to leave work due to that incident. It really messed me up. We have since lost my father but when I left work that day I went and spent more time with him. You just never know what that person you are speaking to has just been through, as Dave says we really do need to be good to one another. It would really kill me if I knew I did what lady did to me, to someone else. So I'm always doing my best to treat everyone good. Your a good man Dave keep up the great work!i

I was bar tending, and stayed open to let him have a drink.. while he sat there I asked him a little about his life, and he told me that "You will meet all kinds of people in life: They all have a lesson to teach you, it is your job is to figure out what that is" (they have to teach you).. I am reminded weekly of this, still..

When I worked at Gloucester and Isabella, (right off Jarvis in the middle of rainbow village) I had a group of college students come into my office. They were doing a study of homeless people in T.O., and what made them homeless. I asked them if they ever considered doing a study of what they were doing before they became homeless. They said they might consider it, but wondered why I would ask that. I told them it had been my experience after talking to some of them, that they may have been pretty successful in the business world, until the drugs got them. It didn't matter to me why they got caught up in that lifestyle, just that they did. Your story reminded me of that.

I'll never understand an adult who says, "The people on the internet said mean things." Either the statements are wrong, or right. If the person is wrong, say how it is wrong. If they are right and you don't like it, just take it like a man. If its just silly nonsensical things that really have nothing to do with you, delete it. But the genuine surprise cracks me up. Either you are naive or you don't like the truth when you hear it, or maybe you find it difficult to defend a good point. Most do.

I recently bought a used squire. I’m putting a guitar fetish Brian May setup on it. They make pickups that sound like the ones he used along with a multi switch pick guard that allows for phase switching as well as pickup selection. Wish me luck! I don’t get why people make rude comments, but they seem to thrive on it. I try to be constructive with the comments I leave, and yelling at the sky seems to help some days! Now, if you read my comment here, and have any tips on doing what I am going to attempt, I would appreciate it. That’s how we learn! Can’t we just be good to each other? We should! That’s what it should be about! My wife was listening to an interview on NPR, where they were talking to the top Rabbi of the Jewish Faith. When they asked him what all the rules and laws in the Hebrew a Bible was about, if he could narrow down the 500 or so laws they are supposed to follow, he said it all means to be good to each other! My Mother taught me that to hate someone means you wish that person was dead. To hate a thing is different. But you can say you dislike it and it would mean the same thing.
