I grew up in the early 70's around 2 of the best things that helped shape & influence me as a musician. Longhaul trucking and outlaw country! I thank my dad for it to. By 14yrs old, he had me training on a new 13Sp. V8 twin turbo, Mack "CruiseLiner" while Waylon's greatest hits played on the old Quadrophonic 8-track. On a dedicated SC-SoCal-GA. A great time era of trucking to be around! Loved it all & wouldn't take anything for the memories.

That's cool brother...in 1998 , myself and two other buddy's left North Alabama headed to Na$#Ville Tn. to see our hero Mr. David A. Coe by God! Long story short, we spotted him and a street talking to a street girl/whore outside in an alley across the street from where we were in line to get in to see him play. Other people close to us in line with us kinda disagreed saying that is not David Allen Coe. I grew my balls up nice and tight and fat and said hold my beer..my 20 year ole' young-ass weaves in and out of traffic, called jaywalking in the big citys, so I finally get to the alley across the street and I knew this was my hero David cause I seen him , he was like glowing and shit all around him with this aura or some shit.. I turned around with my chest poked out . I glanced at the dumb sumbitches who just questioned my impressive skill of. Master identification of famous outlaw country western musicians. Knowing they just have made there worst decisions in life just now by doubting me or David . Oh it was him let me tell ye' cause he was dressed from head to toe in the sharpest and most peculiar odd ass outfit ive ever seen , all the way down to his rainbow rubberbands that were all in his beard. I turned and looked at my two buddy's next nodded my head followed by a smooth ass grin and wink cause in less than 5 sec. I'm going to meet my friend and hero. I turn round with my hand firmly out in guestor of shaking hands then .... WRONG ! As I almost made eye contact with my friend David , when out the blue he's done grabbed me , has me up against the wall and has a switchblade knife pulled and it breaks the skin slightly all the way up , drew blood, on the side of my neck... and very softly says into my ear. " Boy do you have any idea who in the F#°k I am ? Matter' fact I do Mr.Coe. your The David Allen Coe sir. Who ?? he asked, Say my last name again and spell it he softly sings into my ear again. Coe. , then I correctly spell Coe. Then tells me to never walk up to him again like that or I would get cut and robbed. He said "Get the f#°k back over there in line and hands me the switchblade knife still open says here it's yours , now he gets me and kicks me dead in the ass kinda hard and says "go back get in that line boy" . As I get to the street to cross my friend David yells. " Hey watch ye'self son ... (Long pause) .....the man will cite your ass for jaywalk , you dig. I still have that knife. And a moment that I cherish as the years have so quickly ran me by. If I may ...what city and year, give or take , did you open and play with our friend David ? That's what is and was cool as shit brother to be able to jam with him.
