the original "cancel culture"... just watched the 16 hour Ken Burns Country Music doc, no mention of DAC, well here's a song title, "Fuck Ken Burns", and if that ain't Outlaw Country, you can Kiss My Ass ❤️

And the sad thing is both of those album's were written as a joke more specifically the song that caused so much controversy because of its subject matter was actually written by David and a few black guys in prison.

@@Rangerman69420 I just don't believe that to be true. I'm not saying that he is a racist just like he isn't now and never really was a patched Outlaw Biker. He knew the market and it being underground country at the time, he entertained it.

Here's one thing I want to point out as a songwriter, melodies DO paint pictures. You can listen to an instrumental and see a magnificent painting. You may see trickling stream in the mountains or you may see the scene of a battlefield, but you can see from what you hear.

I simply had to say something on this matter.. he said you can't talk about drugs or alcohol today in Nashville. Yet every pop country artists that plays videos in Nashville today hard I'd only sponsored by twisted tea and Bud light and keystone light, but 90% of the songs these pop country artists play are beer drinking songs. Tailor-made for drinking alcohol. New pop country is completely centered around the consumption of booze. It has nothing to do with the music anymore

The man !!The complete intelligence, Wise old man, (for lack of better words ) If the nation we live in could lay it all out ,in simple terms and understanding like this and practices this meathod ,of simple walk of life , the left wing radicals would have that Utopia they so dream of , you can use this theology in all walks of life , this man inspired me in 1983 , being incarated in a juvenile facility and or prison for 5 years This legend pull me through it , learned to put my thoughts and prayers on paper, and translate them into simple terms, yes long live David Allen Coe , and he should be in a Hall of Fame ,I think they would call that heaven but not to soon now our Lord

He is wrong. It's not just the lyrics. The MELODY does "paint a picture." His songs recycle old melodies. Also, "real life" can be any number of things. It's about a lot more than divorce, drink, drugs, etc. ALSO, if he was married and divorced five times, that says more about him than the women.

Two things can be true.David Allan Coe is a great songwriter and singer. Also, he has a very creepy vibe and is definitely racist. I also believe that he struggles with facts and truth.
@kbrad126723 күн бұрын
I have listened to David many times describe his past and even in his book and in watched quite a few of his interviews... and I don't believe this guy cannot tell the truth , or he may not even knows the truth about his life or he's just plainly lying about a lot of his past. because he changes is it a lot of what he describes about others play the music business, how many years he was incarcerated he said he was incarcerated from the time he was nine until he was 24 then says that he was incarcerated for 20 years in this interview he says he was in prison for 22? He makes statements like he has never drank or even been a drunk or done drugs. And then all the sudden he's been through rehab. And he is smoking on here, and that's just a few of the things that I've heard him change about his life and past. Honestly I believe that he's a born liar ain't got famous and rich off of it. Hate to say it but I'll use the same what's the characterization that he uses for others call to describe the race gender ext, ( once a convict is always a convict.

You never even call me by my name was released in 1974. You say people heard you (in that song) talk about songwriters and then wanted to find out who Bob Dylan was. By 1974 Bob Dylan had been a global icon for 10 years, long before you ever showed up. Bob never needed any help from you. Come back down to earth Dude.

There's no doubt that this guy believe's his own myth but he is talking specifically about Nashville in the 70s in regards to the song writer deal. There are still people who don't realize that songs are farmed out.
