My my late husband bought a 1960 MGA 26 yrs ago. This song reminds me of the history behind the MGA. It originally belonged to a young Naval Officer, who was a fighter pilot. He bought the car to race in the 1600 race scene. He served two tours in Vietnam. On the second tour he was shot down & killed. His car was transferred to his parents barn. The car served my husband well for 4yrs. It's mine now & I often think of that young Naval Officer sitting next to me.

Mine was a 68 mustang fire engine red cragar's all the way around it was 60 series tires in the back. Stock 302 automatic on the floor paid $900 for her the old lady told me her son reenlisted in the army and he sent her a letter and told her to sell it his name wasn't Private Malone but this song reminds me of that day had dust all over it an old one stall garage I took it to the car wash and his thing sparkled and shine like a brand new penny so this song really brings back some good memories every time I hear it I start thinking about trying to find that old lady find her son and thank him for selling that mustang but the house is gone now the Walgreens pharmacy is there on Donald Street their house was the first alley off of Logan first alley and sitting in that old garage is where she sat

Magnificent storytelling, which Ray Charles said was the gift of Country/Western music, presented by a gifted voice. Awesome!

Mr. Ball, I don't know if you meant to write this song about my grandfather, but I can say it certainly comes close to what I know of him!
