This is the last interview by David Bowie. He's being asked about working with Ricky Gervais and appearing on the british tv show "Extras", in 2006. Enjoy and keep cool.

I've thought this for a while, and found out that he was asked to play Max Zorin in A View To A Kill, but turned it down and later said he didn't want to spend five months watching his stunt double fall off cliffs : / So they asked Sting, and then Christopher Walken who is of course excellent.

This entire interview is satire. It is scripted, an actual part of the episode. All the guests who went on this show did interviews in this way, acting odd, contrived or full of themselves. Granted this one is more subtle but it's still not a real interview. You really should change the title of this because it's misleading to all the morons in the comments who are oblivious to the fact, acting like they've just watched an actual interview.
@4ebees8 жыл бұрын
+IronRooRoo Exactly. No one can think that Bowie is serious when he says he started off in serious movies...then segues into some of his best jokes "Yeah? You and whose army?" It's a great example of how Gervais is liked by other people in the business. They so much want to be involved in taking the mickey out of themselves and the industry.
@IronRooRoo8 жыл бұрын
+4ebees Except that so many people commenting are clueless with comments like "wow he's so down to earth, great interview!" They're that thick they cannot even detect the obvious sarcasm during instances which you pointed out. It makes me depressed to know on average people are this stupid.

IronRooRoo I doubt pointing out things to a moron will improve things any...but its worth a shot.
@HugoLindmark5 жыл бұрын
Well, first of all: you're wrong. This isn't a part of the episode. And I really don't think it's scripted. Cause no, not "all the guests" did this kind of interview for the show. This is a behind the scene interview and Bowie's joking around. But I wouldn't correct you like this if it wasn't for the fact that it's kind of fun when people call other people "moron" and in the same breath doesn't have a clue what they are talking about. Cheers!

Bowie was a true Renaissance Man. Talented in everything he did, whether comedy, painting, philosophy and music. The world lost a large fragment of its soul when you went home, Starman. We miss you, every day.

I love the deadpan, tongue-in-cheek subtlety with which David did this interview, "Well, as you probably know, my background's in serious acting, before I started doing the writing, singing thing;" giving "Rick" pointers on new ways of approaching comedy "that he hadn't really thought about before;" giving him some jokes to use in future episodes - "Yeah? You and whose army?" Or, "If you keep looking like that, your face will stay like it." "That's really quite a zinger, isn't it?" he said cheerfully. Brilliant. Having said that, the first time I happened upon this clip, a couple of months ago, I took it at face value and was left thinking that David's jokes weren't that good and were in fact jokes that had been around. In other words, it went right over my head. But in my defense, I think I was still very much in mourning over David's passing at the time and my perceptions were a little fogged over from all the sadness I'd been feeling.

After watching the Dick Cavett Show performance and interview in 1974 where he was super geeked on coke I never thought he would live 32more years and somehow pull it all together.....impressive
