The Mario Who Sold The Kingdom Is a story about how Mario starts his journey to save the princess but as he collects more stars he grows more manipulative and hungry for power, using Peach's rescue as an excuse to manipulate the Mushroom Kingdom population to do whatever he wants. Mario ended up defeating Bowser but imprisoned Peach himself so no one could see her. Mario lost all his feelings and fear, becoming a hollow shell of himself; now using the princess and the stars to do whatever he wishes to. He teuly became the man who sold the Mushroom Kingdom.
