Yes, it's a real bummer for me Gail, I worked with Maz on Survive at Festival Records studio in Sydney in 1999 and did all the guitar parts. It's mystifying that it got taken down, it was an official Bowie video and has been online for years. Go figure?

I can imagine that it is a huge bummer. But the guitar on this version is you, correct? I love this song and think the guitar is just great. There is so much feeling from Bowie in the music, which is enhanced by the guitar. I guess that's the point tho. I listened to some of your music...it's really good. But I'm a little confused...you're Brendan Gallaher Music and were part of Karma County? Sorry, obviously if you did anything at all that was associated w.Bowie, I am so not worthy! But I am enjoying some of your tunes. You probably noticed while looking for Survive on KZbin, it was dead with the note "This video contains content from WMG, who has blocked it in your country..." I wrote Warner Music Group about it and they never answered. They pulled it after his death. Not before.

No, this is the original version with Reeves Gabrels on guitar. I played on the version that was remixed by Marius de Vries and released as a single and had the accompanying video of DB flying through the air in the kitchen. It's quite different. I met DB in Sydney in 2004. A mutual friend gave him a copy of my Open Tuning Chord Book For Guitar in NYC in 2002. He gave me a great quote which appears on the back cover "What a super book, this is such fun. I could use this for the next album."
