On man, we need an "Ask Croz" KZbin channel. lol A lot of people like to call him an opinionated asshole(and he can be, but I think he'd be the first one to admit it), but I love the guy. He's funny as hell.

I'm more of a Nash guy, I think he wrote some of the best and most amazing material in all the output the group has ever released. Croz just is a control freak, but I don't hate the guy either and this series is enjoyable to listen to him do, even after his passing. It's like he's still here somehow when you listen to him. Miss ya Croz.

I've loved listening to Crosby going back to The Byrds, who along with the Beatles, were my favorite bands at the time. I always thought that David was the most representative figure of the spirit of the 60's (more so than Dylan, Lennon and McCartney, etc.) in the sense that he embodied all sides of what was happening - the transcendent, idealistic, spiritual side along with the dark destructive side - the opposites, the paradoxes (he was actually living it, not just going along with a trend). Everything great and everything terrible. Part prophet, part mischievous Loki, he continues to embody the rebel spirit of that era, warts-and-all. When you break down boundaries there will always be a lot of chaos to go along with the expanded freedom, but hopefully it can all be reformed in a more enlightened condition - assuming one is able to survive. The stairs to heaven lead straight down to hell. Crosby is a survivor and he never has lost that twinkle in his eye.

Now that Trump is no longer our president I can say with no regrets Trump was a complete disaster for our country and really sorry for the people that are walking around with their heads in the clouds. He almost destroyed our country and believe me I was one of those idiots that voted for him the first time. Republicans now are not the same party from 20 years ago. They are evil and want to control us just like Putin with Russia. Not willing to give up my freedom now. Too old for that.

I've had fear of death, anxiety issues, depression issues, fear of life being ephemeral when I was a kid.....I hid in my room so my family wouldn't see me cry when I turned 10 because my age no longer would have only 1 digit lol. It may sound like a joke or someone being ultra sensible. Maybe that's part of it, but these thoughts caused me to start suffering from insomnia before elementary school even started....To this day if I don't have a few drinks, or better sleeping medication that don't completely mess me up.....I could go on for a while, but yeah 16 year old and worrying about that stuff is not as uncommon as you'd think.

By the way...if you already have all the CSN/CSNY you can find...check out his first album "If I Could Only Remember My Name". My question to David Crosby would be, how do you get the audience to be quiet enough to enjoy something as beautiful as "Lee Shore?" I have been to very few concert recently because the crowds have become so unruly. I don't like crowds but I went to see everybody back in the 60's, even when my Mom had to drive me> I went to quite a few in the 70's but finally have gotten to the point where I just can't deal with it anymore! The response to the sixteen year old who is afraid of death was so unsatisfactory and completely opposite of what I’ve found to be true, in my own experience. I’m 65, and the fear of death has vastly diminished the closer I get to the finish line. For those who have had spiritual or mystical experiences, there is no death. And for those who are dyed in the wool atheists or hard skeptics, the gentle return into the void is all that awaits. I happen to be of the former persuasion, but either way, death is a natural part of life. What is there to fear? I don’t get it 🤷‍♀️

Everyone has a diff view ... Perhaps they're afraid because there are very real creepers who want to go to school and shoot up a bunch of kids. That's not something we ever had to worry about as teens. Young people have more to worry about these days than we did, for the most part.

Addressing the first question, a 16-year old afraid of death. I think Crosby forgets that kids are freaked out from decades of school shootings, mass shootings, not to mention natural disasters every other day thanks to refusal to confront climate change. So when Crosby says: "You're 16. You don't get to be afraid of death." He doesn't realize 16 ain't what it was like when he was 16, in 1950s Hollywood, where he grew up. Yeah, he had the threat of the bomb, which was very real....but the bomb never came. School shootings are not an abstraction, and they happen everywhere.

@Musical Box A helluva lot happened under the orange maggot that has everyone on edge; it makes total sense the young would feel it too. Racists all over the place pissing in the pool every fifteen minutes ain't helping matters either. Every generation calling them millenials, hating them just for being born, I'm sure that sucks. In a few years, we'll all be dirt in the ground, I'm sure they can't wait. What a s**tshow they're inheriting.

@@TTM9691 I'm 17 and I disagree. Every new generation gets picked on by the older generation. I think my generation is to sensitive to certain things and some of the issues that concern us are pretty minuscule compared to the previous generations. For example the boomers when they turned 18 they were at risk of the draft for Vietnam, to me that's a much bigger issue then some of the things that were concerned about.

I've got a question for David. So David, I believe you've had the same boat since 1967, a rather lovely and venerable schooner that you are reputed to be highly skilled at sailing yourself. All 76 foot of her (that's a handful). They say the best two days you ever have with a boat are the day you buy it and the day you sell it. You obviously don't agree because you haven't felt moved to sell yours. So, as a well seasoned salt what would your best advice to to other sailors?

Crosby and the Mayan, which would end up on the cover of the trio's 1977 album "CSN," also endured over the course of nearly 50 years and numerous trips around the Caribbean, through the Panama Canal and up and down the Pacific coast of Mexico and California. But last year, the relationship ended. "I'd gotten the boat to a state where it was pretty much perfect, and I couldn't hold the idea of letting it go downhill in my hands," says Crosby, 73. "So I found a guy who loved it, and had billions of dollars, and who could take care of it, you know? And he is. I wish I had the kind of money to be able to keep it, but I didn't, and I don't, and there you are."

@@lastnamefirst4035 My support for DJT started in 2011 when he requested a synopsis of my legal research on Barack Obama. If the same standards the senate required for John McCain's 'natural born citizenship' were applied to Obama, Obama would not have been president. A U.S. citizen father fulfills Article II's natural born citizenship requirement, the only exception being if born to a British subject prior to the adoption of our constitution. A 'citizen at birth' from a U.S. citizen mother, or merely being born on U.S. soil, are recent changes in statute (1952 and 1898 respectively) and do not amend or revise Article II's 'natural born citizenship' requirement. So, DJT is smarter than you think. And, good luck to you too.

@@leonarddaneman810 Im sorry you bought into a load of crap by DJT and you lack the ability to understand that Hawaii is a state. People born in Hawaii are US citizens, ie Obama. Trump actually wasnt sure if Hawaii was an island or a country of its own and said he would check into it and see if it was part of the US. That is something kids learn in early grade school. Glad u brought up Mccain, a good and decent human being. You have not seen the video of him talking at a rally when he was running against Obama where a lady who said she was afraid of obama bc he was a Muslim and wasnt a US citizen (which was started by trump bc obama made a joke about him in 2011 which trump held much resentment so he fueled the lie until he got sick of it and said "ok. Obama is a citizen") Mcain answered the lady and told her Obama was a christian and a fine and decent man whom he had much respect for and a citizen. They just disagreed on some issues. Ive explained more to u then I intended. Take an honest look at Trump who was so childish he continued to talk bad about Mccain even after he died and attacking McCains daughter and wife on twitter. Not only is he a stupid man but a worthless pos who got elected by stupid people. On a personal note, I grew up in Ia and when I graduated hs I got the hell out of there moving to Ca (save your breath on insulting Ca a place you have never been) went to college, married w a daughter and live a decent life & from time to time visiting family in Ia yet never w a desire to live there again. Its a very small world w limitations to me but its home to many people, "some I assume are good" lastly dont think u and I have anything more to discuss. Im betting Iam old enough to be your mom or even grandma. I know by reading what you wrote that we have many years between us and time is a teacher in and of itself. You have many years of learning ahead of you. PS I could be way off about our age difference in which case there is just no excuse for your thinking. Iowa City has a good neuro and psych programs Im sure where you could ask for an evaluation to rule out any illnesses. Im not being facetious. They took good care of my aunt when she had early dementia. They used her body for science

@@lastnamefirst4035 Obama has no record of Hawaiian 'birth' per se. One record, produced by Obama during his first campaign, is unwitnessed and, according to another document (unwitnessed by signed by his grandmother), from a 338-17.8 'out of state' registration (not a birth certificate, but only a Certification of Live Birth); which means he wasn't born in Hawaii. Two other docs are from Kenya, which were gotten by a U.S. citizen visiting Kenya (a black man). Those Kenyan documents were going to be verified but Obama's attorneys at Perkins & Coie blocked the judicial process (part of the Rule 11 'hearsay' exception). The April 27, 2011 birth certificate posted on the White House website was determined to be a fake (which was a felony, for which Obama could have been impeached over). So, because Obama's father was a bigamist and no proof of Hawaiian 'native' birth, Obama's citizenship was solely from his mother through 8 U.S.C. 1409/INA §309, the 'out of wedlock' provision. The people who started the 'not a citizen' rumor were two Democrat attorneys, Hillary Clinton and a Philip J. Berg. My research actually contradicted Berg's brief in a lawsuit he filed prior to Obama's election. Berg was a Clinton supporter. I have a saved copy of Philip Berg's email, furious with me. Obama was raised as a Muslim in Indonesia. His Christian affiliation was merely for show, with a radical black church that honored Farrakhan and was anti-white. As for Senator McCain, dead or alive, he was a jerk, plain and simple. There, I said it. My research on Obama's citizenship at birth was used in two non-fiction books. Trump read my research in 2011 before challenging Obama to produce his birth and school records, offering $1 million (and then $10 million) to Obama's choice of charity. Obama refused to produce the records. So, my legal research was reliable, to the tune of $1 million . . . and ten times that. As for 'citizenship at birth,' that is NOT the same as a 'natural born citizen.' The latter requires, without exception, a U.S. citizen father; a citizenship/nationality through consanguinity (jus sanguin), by blood relation. Various 'citizenship at birth' conditions were created by statute. Ted Cruz, for example, was a 'citizen at birth' through INA §301g. That was a 1952 revision, eliminating the 5-year proof of residency requirement in the 1940 INA. Obama lost his citizenship in Indonesia, but regained it fulfilling a statutory 5-year residency when he returned to the U.S., between the age of 14-22. Again, neither of these citizenship conditions fulfill the Article II 'natural born citizenship' required for presidential eligibility. (Senate Report 511, lead by Democrat Patrick Leahy, agrees, giving McCain eligibility, even though not born on U.S. soil.) U.S. soil (jus soli) birthright citizenship did NOT come from the 14th Amendment, but an 1898 Supreme Court decision (unconstitutional in my opinion, and in the Dissent by the Chief Justice at that time) in a case concerning a 22-year old Chinese cook named Wong Kim Ark. That case needs to be overturned by congress. I think that will be up on President Trump's agenda after he wins the 2020 election.

@@leonarddaneman810 You realize the, Obama born out of the country is a diversion for the easily led. McCain was born in Calon Panama. Romney was born in Mexico. If you believe in the Obama Kenya garbage, then for 2 election cycles none of the candidates were born in the USA. It was a Republican diversion, simple. Pull your head out

Maybe for you, but most young people think they're eternal and unbreakable. It's called "innocence". Waking up to mortality, turning one's back on denial, that often happen's later. Fear is often a big factor. That's why some people - especially the terminally ill - are now getting therapy with psychedelic drugs like psilocybin, with great success. It's becoming an accepted method.
