Hey there! Hope you enjoy the holiday season! I won't bore you with how difficult this one was to make and how it'll probably fail again like the McConaughey video (go watch it if you haven't). To all Norton likers who wanted this video to happen - thank you again for an outstanding performance. I'm sorry for taking so long, the last few months felt like they were being directed by Fincher himself)) Finding a good and reliable editor turned out to be an impossible task, so i had to return to it myself. This is purely a rookies job and my perfectionism always pushes the release date further and further. Maybe I should start a patreon or something to finance a good editor, bc it's totally nonaffordable to hire someone currently and to edit myself means all work and no play. Let me know in the comments what you liked and what pissed you off, haven't heard a feedback from y'all in a while! Wishing you all happy holidays and all the greatness for the new year my friends, let's hope for it to be directed by Wes Anderson or someone but not Fincher again, lol. Which director would you like to direct your 2025? I am curious

I was a 2nd AD on a commercial that Fincher directed. We had a shot that involved a technocrane pushing in from behind on two characters who walk toward an elevator, enter it, turn around and face the camera, and then doors close. That's it. That was the entire shot. We did 57 takes of it.

David as a director is established already but what gets overlooked is how many people he introduced to the filmmaking process.

Zodiac comes as close to perfection as any Fincher film. I didn't know he took so many retakes, but his movies are usually so good, unlike Kubrick, who has more duds and demanded retakes.

Kubrick's worst are Barry Lyndon, The Shining, and Lolita. The one film by Fincher that could be better was Panic Room, and Fight Club bored me at times.

Could you please make video on Tom Hanks filmography where many of his classic film still feels so refreshing and how he lost his charm as a consistent box office draw it would be interesting to see from your side

David Fincher wanted to make the Aaron sorkin project “Steve Jobs” but money was an issue.

I read that Fincher convinced the studio not to re-shoot "Panic Room" scenes after the movie had wrapped, because it would mean re-building the entire set. One scene that was re-filmed was the very last scene on the park bench, after Foster gave birth and didn't look quite so exhausted. In your video description, "Zodiac" is spelled incorrectly. This was the first movie Fincher shot on digital instead of film. "Fight Club" was shot on film, not "tape". Originally, the studio heads were planning to push "Zodiac" as an Oscar contender, but when Fincher refused to make the film shorter, they bumped the release from fall of 2006 to early 2007 and cut back on it's promotion. This is an important reason why it didn't make much money.

No he didn't. Studio interference did. Guess you don't know the history of what went behind the scenes in the making of that movie.

No, it wasn't Fincher’s fault. The studio ruined it.
