Very well said! I hear it new each time it plays...echoes, what a masterpiece. I'm 35 years old, and their music makes me feel as if I've lived twice as much time. Bless all of them, new and old, from Roger to Dave, from Syd and Rick passing, the entire journey must have been quite a life. Bless all of you, love you all. Here we are, here and now.

Echoes is my favourite song on Meddle, which is my favourite album, followed by Fearless and then On the Run. In the latter, I love it when Mason’s big fat flat drum kicks in, because it does sound like some fascist bastard kicking in someone’s door. Genius- all of them.

You can tell a lot about a man by the people he surrounds himself with, and when you have Rick Wright, Bowie, Crosby, Nash, Manzanera, Robert Wyatt and so many other great musicians around you, that means you're a very special person. Thx David for every moment of delight you've given all of us.

at 29:47, walking through the gauntlet of fans out to a waiting limo, Mike Rutherford of Genesis. I had to back it up a few secs, not sure if I saw it right lol....but yeah, that's his beautiful wife Angie with him. Amongst the many others, I read somewhere that Gilmore + Rutherford where good friends. This was cool to see just this glimpse.

I feel ya. I was at a festival this summer and the bands were Nickelback, Kevin Federline (Britney Spears’ ex), Vanilla Ice, Hanson, and Creed! It was exactly the same! That much talent in one venue is insane🤔😉. That’s sarcasm by the way… On a real note, David Gilmour is number one of all time on my list. There’s obviously beasts like Satriani, Eddie, Jimmy Page, BB King, etc but Gilmour is untouchable🎸

Last year I was keen on traveling somewhere but I couldn't decide where to. After watching this documentary I decided to spend four days in Venice as I had already been there but it was long ago and I could hardly remember anything. Three first days were great and my only complaint was the amount of tourists...it was SO crowded everywhere, and the last day I decided just to walk through the canals and streets with no specific direction and at a turning point I listen to crystal glass music. I approach the guy who plays them and it was Igor, the guy that appears in the documentary and performed with David on stage at San Marco. Had a little chat and he explained to me that David and the rest of the guys were EXCELLENT people, had dinner with them and music was always present in some way at all times. He told he really apreciated that someone that young like me remembered him about those days as 2006 is a bit far. I decided to go to Venice thanks to the documentary and once there I meet the crystal glass player who appears on the documentary. Life can truly be beautiful sometimes.

What a great, great man Mr. David Gilmour is. He has a beautiful demeanor, a beautiful family, surrounded by legendary friends and peers who adore him; nevertheless, he always has maintained such an authentic discipline regarding his art and he illuminates with such sincerity. He is the definition of a true musical role model in every sense of the meaning. God bless you and your beautiful family David! Cheers and best wishes and warmest regards!

One can look at the entirety of Pink Floyd's discography, and carry on to David's work, and one will find how interests shift as one gets older. It starts with fairytales and dreams, but then you want to make it big, earn all that money. And when you do, you find it's not really what you've wanted and you shut yourself out from the world. As you age, you realise you're not the center of the world, and it all takes a political, almost activist turn. But maybe communication is key. Finally, you realise that what's most important in life is what you had with you all along: a family, a loving wife, children, somewhere to warm your bones by the fire, as a younger version of you might put it. It's all an arc, i feel. It is amazing in its extent. It is beautiful to listen to. It is like nothing you'll ever hear. Thank you, David, for putting such a beautiful coda to it.

@@melodymakermark And Dave has now hired one of the greatest keyboard players ever , Greg Phillinganes, who played with Stevie Wonder on "Songs in The Key of Life" when he was 16 years old.Greg is a Great Keyboard player that Rick never was, not in the pantheon of gifted virtuosos like Greg. I love Rick, but he would tell you himself that he was not a great Keyboardist, anymore than Roger is a great bass player. That is not what "it" is about in the case of a great group, it is what they did together as four individuals who will never be considered virtuosos in their given instruments.

After listening to this album many times.Clearly very professional and as referred to polished. However, complex in nature. My mind, they were expressing their feelings and journey of their success. It sounded like shake off of their life demanded of them and found the equilibrium in challenging everything they knew and learnt in their path of reaching it but satisfied with it was a different matter altogether. I also believed the wall experienced through isolation was actually the unifying element with the outside as many people dare not speak of or choose to Speak in fear of being alienated. A brave effort. Took a huge risk in not compromising their discomfort with having reached a pinnacle and choosing something new they were in search of the passion to succeed and keep the standard or even supersede their previous masterpiece and create another. The previous was talking about the persona dealing with world at that time. The wall signifying the pressures of that time period politically. All done with perfection and high standard production and recording, talent and skill. The struggle of fitting in and yet maintain indiduality in a positive light. That’s why it was so successful. They dared To open Pandora’s box on themselves and their relationship with the world. Thank you Pink Floyd. David Bowie Wow! Never knew

Absolutely and I'd have loved to have played bass guitar on this tour. The positive atmosphere is something I always love in a band as it brings out the best performances on stage

Deep South New Zealand Im watching this doc for the first time. Ive seen that part before. it's been nice to see them all pop on each others stages over the last few years and especially good to see them again at live8 before Rick went. :)

Deep South New Zealand Not a bad performance considering the the time apart. Lol. Wonder how many bands will be able to say in the future "yeah we didn't play together for 20 years but we still sounded the dogs bollox!" They line up at end and Rick leans over the back of Nick to give Roger a pat on the shoulder which I like. I hope he realised exactly what that meant for a real Floyd fan to see that before he departed. How many people loved seeing all of them together again. I say that in terms of him being a more shy maybe modest type.

@@daddypig.5796 im a bit of a sensitive type and i get emotional at such times and seeing such touching moments too, youre right about how well they gelled and played together which shows the true genius of each member of pink floyd, such professional and accomplised musicians, there are documentaries where you see how well they get on back stage or on tour, they have a genuine love for each other like brothers i guess
