Robert Wyatt is one of the greatest musicians ever lived.. his solo album, Rock Bottom is considerd one of the best albums of all time.. in my opinion he was the best drummer in the 60s until he became paralyzed in the lower body

So hilarious that there are actually comments saying that Gilmour is more prolific and inventive than Wyatt... Might want to look into the history of both of their careers; you'll see that Wyatt has made more albums and has been related to more masterpieces of art than Gilmour has dreamed of.

curiosity is never ignorance. I think Wyatt has been one of the best jazz-rock musicians ever lived (unfortunately less celebrated than others). look for the first three albums of Soft Machine, his other project called Matching Mole ("Oh Caroline" is the best rock ballad of all times in my opinion) and his solo masterpiece "Rock Bottom".

A bit of trivia. At a party in 1969 Robert fell from a second story window somewhere in France. Pink Floyd held a benefit concert to try and get him back on his feet. He4 is in a wheel chair and continued to play drums despite his handicap- he is a paraplegic and he inspired me to play drums again after I had a below the knee amputation on the left side and it still hurts like hell 2.5 years after the fact. He was a big inspiration. Thank you.

Or maybe there's no easy access to the stage. It's another reason he stopped performing altogether, he was fed up with this bullshit, he resents having to be helped, and very few venues have a ramp to the stage

Matthew Ahrens They were a lot closer back in the sixties. A lot of material from, 'Piper at the Gates..." sounds congruent with Matching Mole. Rog kinda put a more relatable direction on that school. There were a lot of interrelated musicians in London (I think) about that time and it even extended to the Rolling Stones and the Beatles. It was an extremely influential school in Rock and Roll history.

If only Soft Machine was more popular... I don't blame Wyatt for leaving when they decided to play instrumental music, his voice is still beautiful to this day. It's nice to see David Gilmour, an artist who is much more well known and respected than Wyatt, giving him some recognition. I'm just sad that Wyatt broke his legs, he wasn't too bad a drummer, either.

I know what you mean by the way it comes across here, but I was at this gig and you could barely see Wyatt unless you were sat at the very front.
