When a music giant like David Gilmour talks, especially on a late night show, you look, listen, feel and learn. Bless him, one and all! (Edit: Fallon has interviewed Roger and David, and now he just needs to interview Nick Mason!)

Mr Fallon, please. You are overflowing with energy and excitement, I get it. But when you ask a guest a question, can you please wait until they've finished speaking before you start talking again? Not a Jimmy Fallon or R. Waters fan... but Sir David Gilmour O.B.E. is a true gentleman at its finest. A great role model for every man. Sure he's had his ups and downs over the years... But he put on his big boy britches.. realized and took care of his problems and came out clean on the other side... And kept on going.. and hasn't stopped since. The man is a saint to the eyes and ears of millions. It's amazing how many stories I've read of miracles and healing his music has performed in the past 60+ years .. I have every Pink Floyd album and every solo album of his... And every concert DVD..I can honestly say I owe my life to his music. Some years ago I read that he quit cocaine and drinking 30+ years ..and that was my motivation to quit drinking as well and it saved my life. I will forever be deeply indebted to him. When Pink Floyd released the Dark Side of the Moon in 1973 it turned the modern music industry upside down... And nothing ever since in the past 50 years can still compete with today's modern junk radio music.. which I refuse to listen to.... As most modern music is just remakes...or written by other people for that whoever artist... David Gilmour if you are reading this.. and I know you read some reviews occasionally.. just know how much we love you and thank you. I've been introducing Pink Floyd music and his solo music to my younger friends and family members. My nephew who is 15 was absolutely blown away... He was like ""this is not music this is a road trip experience of the mind"" especially after watching Comfortably Numb from the Pulse concert... He used to listen to rap ..but no more. It's amazing how many young people are converting their music choices after listening to Pink Floyd. God bless you David Gilmour.🎉 🥰. I simply cannot imagine a world without Pink Floyd and David Gilmour. PF4EVERDG ✌️ Some of you here I understand don't even know who David Gilmour or Pink Floyd is or very little of them....or that your negative comments are based on the one song he played here... I would advise that you listen to the #1 selling album of all time Dark Side Of The Moon in its entirety ...or Comfortably Numb from the Pulse Concert... I will put the Links at the bottom... Then you'll know why Pink Floyd has been Billboard chart busting for years..... kzbin.info/www/bejne/oWrcn42keqenrNksi=AnssrpbI3BFMiXU2 kzbin.info/www/bejne/bZy6nWCQfLKqobMsi=beRN_1L2rI75GkLE ...No haters please... Keep your words short simple and sweet because one day you may have to eat them. .... If not, You know what to do ...and you know where you can go🤔 I believe that Jimmy Fallon truly is not a big fan as he says because of certain comments he said and how he said them ..... If he was a true fan he would not have said that he ""Heard"" that he was a musician for over 60+years. Every true or even casual Pink Floyd fans knows they go back to the 1960s = over 60 years ago.. That's basic elementary grade school math people. 🤔 Sounds like the writers were ""helping"" him out on a lot on this interview with ""help"" from Wikipedia on virtually everything that was said . I'm surprised that Jimmy Fallon didn't bow down to him..or ask him to autograph his album on camera...or ask to take a selfie like he does with other people... Those are the people that Jimmy Fallon ""truly"" is a fan of 🤔 ... Actions speak louder than words.

I think I've finally found another David Gilmour (Pink Floyd) fan who shares my passion for his music. Believe me when I say this: for 12 years, I didn’t play a single song by any other artist-not even once. It was always, and I mean always, Pink Floyd. My obsession was so obvious that everyone around me, from my closest friends to the security guard in my building, knew I was a die-hard Floyd fan. Then, on November 4th, I had the privilege of attending his concert in New York. It was pure euphoria, an experience unmatched-even more thrilling than when I climbed Mount Everest or when I shared my first kiss. I do not even remember how many times I cried or how many times I laughed. My bucket list feels so light after that night.

I haven't seen David Gilmour interviewed very many times, but of the ones I have seen, this is the most upbeat and enthusiastic I've seen him to sit in the interviewee's chair by far. Beautiful to see him so much enjoying this current album and tour and even the promotion - a rebirth of his career and a monster refresh for the legacy of Pink Floyd. I'm not too much younger than David and have been a great fan and terrible player of rock music since that Sunday night 60 years ago when The Beatles made their 1st appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show and changed everything. With all my own longevity, no musician has pulled as many tears and deep appreciation out of me as Mr. Gilmour has. I'm so thrilled that he is enjoying this magnificent rejuvenation and that he can see and appreciate how much he has meant to so many generations.

My go to music in last 30+ years. Musical trends come and go. One thing that's constant is Pink Floyd Music. And this man is God of guitar. Comfortably Numb, arguably the best guitar solo ever written, I picked up when I was a teen in early 90s and today, kids in 2024, are still doing the same and posting on Instagram. Having been to 100+ concerts in my life by far the most incredible concert happened Saturday April 22, 1994 at the Oakland Coliseum Pink Floyd show. The show was amazing they turned the venue into a giant speaker bass speakers on the grass treble speakers in the seats and tweeters in the top tier there were so many speakers they displaced 500 seats. It was my 'Woodstock' moment and for that i thank you Mr. Gilmour. 🎉

David said that “Luck and Strange” is his best album since Dark Side and it’s true. Luck and Strange asks *such* deep questions and gives such stirring replies without really answering those deep questions. You must listen to “Scattered.” It’s the best song by any member of Pink Floyd or by Pink Floyd since Comfortably Numb.

an Absolute Class Act in every sense of the word ....and still humble ..this man has recorded some of the most inventive and timeless music of the last century ..yet he is still polite, humble and zero ego ..(watch and learn so called celebs/artists of today) ..the fact he says 'boring' towards the end of the interview when explaining about his recording /lyric / music writing process ...as if he assumed folks aren't interested in the details .and almost apologizes for it..,sums up exactly why he is such an incredible artist of integrity and kindness ....YES David ..it is these details we absolutely DO want to hear about ...🙂 I had the absolute pleasure of seeing him and his band play at the Royal Albert Hall in London last month ...felt so blessed...(first time seeing him since Floyd on Momentary lapse tour in the late 80s) this mans musical prowess is still outstanding and his playing has not diminished at all ..and his Daughter Romany has an incredible voice .....if you get a chance to still see him on this tour ..don't doubt it ..its something very very special indeed 🙂

Had the privilege of going to his show twice when he was in Los Angeles. What a performance, the genuine joy and affection of Dave sharing the stage with his daughter and the band was a tremendously special experience. The guitar solo at the end of the the last song of the album called Scattered, truly rivals Comfortably Numb
@marshalbaek5580
@marshalbaek5580 13 күн бұрын
@@Uninfluenceable I'll try to keep this short. In High School listening to the Wall - the whole album - it was just crazy great. I vividly remember telling a friend of mine how great the album was and that one song that stood out (especially the lead solo at the end) is called Comfortably Numb. I said the guitar feels like it cries out in pain, anger, sadness - as if it's singing a full song telling a full story by itself. Fast forward - I go to college, play football, met a woman, got married, had kids, I blink and i'm 50 years old. Never been on Social Media - and I hear about the app calked Vine. I play the guitar. I get on the app - meet other musicians and one day there is a Vine that says leave a comment on your favorite guitar solo of all time. Immediately I go to type: Comfortably Numb -by Pink Floyd - Then it occurs to me that the people on this app are 30 years younger than me. Nobody is going to know what I'm referring to - a song from the late 70's buried in a long concept album...I'll probably get laughed at with a lot of references to Grandpa!" - then I thought - I don't care - they asked for a favorite - so I posted it. The next day I get on and I'm going through the comments and there are a ton of them and to my shock - well over half of them are: Comfortably Numb. I couldn't believe it. I'm still in awe of that moment - even later on a youtube Channel by a guy named Rick Beato - he posted his top 20 lead solos of all time - his number one: Comfortably Numb. All that to say that it fed my soul a little encouragement - as I've grown older, it's become obvious that society pulls away from the old people as a whole with only very few exceptions. We become less relevant and it's just the way it has to be I guess. I don't know - but seeing how people were embracing a lead solo that was my favorite - from back in my time....made me feel....less forgotten. Ok. enough of an old guy rambling. If you say it rivals comfortably numb, I'm all in and I sincerely thank you for letting me know about it. I'll buy the album and listen to it many times over this weekend. Take care -

Saw him live on Halloween at the Hollywood Bowl. Great performance from a dude I listened to since I was in elementary school in the 90s! The Wizard of Oz coinicindes are so cool! The songs line up perfectly with the scene and fits the mood with the sound. There are like 20 parts where the lyrics have direct things on screen like "balanced on the biggest wave" while Dorthy is balancing on a fence. Then "who knows which is which and who is who" is sang exactly when Dorthy is talking to 2 witches she just met. The most amazing moment is when he sings "black, black, black, black" at the exact moment the witch dressed in black makes her big entrance. Then "and blue" the camera moves from the witch to Dorthy in blue dress. Everyone always acts like it's just a stoner thing but it actually is fun to experience.
