I was born in the 1980's so i grew up with Only Fools and Horses on t.v. because my parents and my grandparents loved it so much. From then I started watching Open All Hours and Porridge etc etc. He is my most favourite actor of all time.

I have had the pleasure of meeting mr. Jason when I was 11 in 1990, I was with my dad walking around Charing Cross and there he was; I already knew him, was a big fan and my dad asked me "You want to meet mr Jason?", I was terrified and couldnt answer lol, so we walked to him, they chatted a little (I was hiding behind dad), he came to me and said "Pleased to meet you, young lad, always remember he who dares, wins!" with the kindest smile on his face. One of the humblest, friendliest, most gracious persons I've ever met

What a man of tremendous class and dignity. There aren't many of my fellow Americans that know of Sir David, nor do they know of the many works of his lifetime; but I've been following him since the days of "Do Not Adjust Your Set", when I was just a young teenager. He's absolutely right when he said he was certainly, and undeniably fortunate to be surrounded by equally talented people; which guarantees excellence in any profession. But even on his own, he's a brilliant gem. God Bless you Sir David John Granville Sydney Derek William Edward Jack Jason White! :D And thank you Nick Lyndhurst as well. You have hit the nail on the head there Mackenzie. These people are not immortal, they grow old and die just like us. I grew up with David Jason, from A Sharp intake of Breath right up to Frost. Only Fools being my favorite. 2019 has been a bit quiet for celebrity deaths, 2016 on the other hand was a cull. So many deaths, David Bowie & George Michael to name but a few. Clint Eastwood will be my onion peeler.

This country has produced some great sitcoms, porridge, rising damp, Gavin and Stacey and The Office but Only Fools is the greatest of all time. John Sullivan was a genius. The 1987-1993 period of only fools was the best period of any sitcom in history in my opinion. The only American show that could touch this was Cheers.
