Watching while getting sober for the first time. Laughing and living one day at a time. I get his retreating. I’m getting that way as I get older.

As a Letterman devotee, I found I had scoured and seen all the little known photographs and clips of David from his pre 1975 days, but this film introduced me to a number of new ones. Thanks so much

I'm grateful for KZbin if for nothing other than the fact that I can see Letterman any time I want! Colbert is ok but TV is missing a Letterman aka Carson
@Snailbarf8 жыл бұрын
Colbert sucks in the chair. He's all about politics, and so is Seth Myers for some reason. Jimmy Fallon might as well be playing marbles with his guests so there's a HUGE void in late night right now.

Dave lost the tonight show because he wouldn't kiss ass and sell out his soul like Jay would. In my mind he's the better man regardless of what the ratings say. The King of Late Night.

That loss really threw him into a depression. As a person who lost his dad in my college years... it hurts everyday.

interesting wish MSNBC would bring this back especially on the weekends instead of that stupid Lock up show

Copy that. Always loved this series.

Major influence not mentioned was Ernie Kovacs.

Steve Allen was a bigger influence, and they covered that.

nbc got the last laugh because Jay Leno ended up winning the ratings battle and Conan O'Brien started getting better ratings with late night than letterman had
@zt10535 жыл бұрын
After Hugh Grant appeared on the Tonight Show in 95 Leno constantly beat Letterman in the ratings.

Maybe Jay got more people, but Dave got better people.

Too bad Dave will never know what fatherhood is really about---he had so much curiosity about it but until you sweat about energy, finances, and staying ahead of a toddler you will never know the real story. He probably has a nanny doing 90% of the real work--Fail Dave.

Not true at all he retired to spend more time with his son. Do your homework before making stupid comments like that.
