I saw this post where they said that the reason why Sam didn't attack Ellie when he turn into a zombie is because since he was deaf he could't hear Ellie in the room. So when Ellie went to go check if he was "saved" and touched him, that was when Zombie Sam knew someone else was in the room and begin and attacked Ellie. As someone who never played the game yet, this show is simply amazing. So many small detail that makes the show so good.

I'm so happy that this story is reaching a wider audience. I remember playing the game and I have no one to talk to about this amazing story they have and how good the concepts are and the characters and this world. Finally everyone is on the same page. I now know how book readers and comic book readers feel when adaptations of their favorite stories are brought to life. I'm just happy they're doing a fantastic job with what I love.

Fun fact, Last of Us was filmed in my city, Calgary, AB, Canada and the surrounding areas. Edmonton, Canmore, etc. The latest episode showed the college I went too. It's pretty crazy. Glad y'all love the show. I was worried it wasn't gonna hit.. But man, the show is just so good. Great adaptation to a great game.

58:14 It's not as if there was no love between Joel and Tess. When they're having lunch with Bill and Frank, Joel calls Tess "mine" in a really obtuse kinda way cuz he doesn't know how to define their relationship. But obviously, the audience can tell there's something there. Also when Tess was giving her last speech to Joel, she says something like, "I never asked you to feel the way i felt" so the audience knows that Tess loved Joel this whole time and Joel was aware of it.

When the first ep came out, I watched a let's play to see how it compares. Don't know how the whole game plays out, but because there is such a huge parallel to the show, I don't want to know because I prefer the surprise. I'm loving this show as a freshie who doesn't know the story line. 😊

I don't know if someone in the comments already pointed this out, but the scientist was Indonesian not Thai. The show was alleging that the infection started in a flour and grain factory west of Jakarta, Indonesia. Also, the woman in the first episode with Joel burning the bodies wasn't Tess and in episode 5 they were in Kansas City not St. Louis. Anyway, as a fan of the game, I really like the series adaptation. It gives a new take to the story line, and it delves deeper into the history of the characters. The show is a hit because everyone is talking about it and season 2 immediately got a go signal. However, since the Last of Us part 3 (the game) hasn't come out yet, I wonder if this will affect the future of the series as well.

Just came here to say tlou is pretty amazing and the show monitors the game very closely, that's how similar they are. I've played the original tlou like 10 times so I dont need to go through the heartbreak again. Pretty funny and interesting to see people's reaction to a game that's been out 10 years now and the greatness people are experiencing. Games are not just point and shoot they have an in depth story. Sucks it took people this long but oh well.

As a huge fan of the game, it’s such a relief that the show is also great. I love that the show gives context to some of the scenes in the game. The show provides or i guess, reimagines the back story and sometimes twists it in another direction as well which is a pleasant surprise. It’s so fun to see how each ep will turn out! I recommend watching KZbinr Hollow play through full last of us part 1 and 2 😊

the ppl that played the game did not like bella ramsay as ellie whereas the ppl that didn't play the game liked her. it's funny how david said they made him care about sarah within 20 mins when in the game she barely got any screen time and her death still made ppl cry and care for her. the show told more of sarah backstory and life before the pandemic happen. the game almost immediately jump right into the pandemic.

I actually like Bella Ramsay as Ellie as I feel she perfectly captures how she acts in the games. I think the issue most people have is how she looks, which I can agree with as in certain angles or lights she can be hard on the eyes, however I haven't let that bother me as she's a great actor overall!

Adapting part 1 of the game they can't mess it up because it was already kinda written for them. Part 2 is gonna be really challenging to adapt and that game was the one that divided the original fans and the so called fans for reasons that were complex when exposing the meddlesome influence of ideologies that were not necessary for the development and progress of the story. But we'll see if that ever comes out

Good episode. One thing you missed is, Joel will kill himself if ellie dies. And ellie would kill herself if Joel dies. BUT ellie knows she is the cure for the infection. So she also knows that she can't kill herself. Which terrifies her. Joel has a hard task but ellie is the hardest of all. She can't chose to bunker down and be with a family and be a kid. She's been cursed to grow up faster than normal and save the world. The brothers purpose is to keep eachother alive. Bill and Frank's purpose is to keep eachother alive. Joel's is to keep ellie alive but ellies purpose is to save the world. So so so sad. Killed me inside
