David Lynch made this commercial in 2000 for the Sony Play Station and the same "trick" has been done about two years earlier by Jonathan Glazer who directed the Rabbit in your Headlights video for Radiohead in 1998. Both did a great job I think.

David Lynch DID NOT direct this commercial. He only made one PS2 commercial for the UK market and it was titled "The Third Place". You can even hear David's voice saying "what not, what is, where not etc..."

This basic idea was used in a music video for U.N.C.L.E., where a tatty man is in a tunnel and a Merc crashes in to him - the car is destroyed, but the man is fine. I agree, with all Lynch's talk of 'looking for bigger fish', this seems like a very small one. Still a well-made video though. Check out my sheep anim.

You're wrong. David Lynch was picked by Sony along with a number of directors to create a campaign for the PSP. The only one that is his starts with a wall of flames and a man walking down a narrow black corridor. There was a huge write up about it in DV magazine since it was the first thing Lynch ever shot on video.
