Ironic isn’t it. He was worried about NATO expansion in Ukraine and by invading the country he has done the exact opposite of what he wished for. NATO has now gotten stronger and bigger.

It's annoying to see where the taxes we pay go and that the United States is helping Ukraine with so much money, while here we are lacking in insecurity, crime and inflation is through the roof. Unbelievable so many shootings, more than 6 shootings in two weeks, with more than 15 dead in different states of the USA. Yes, the politicians and those who have positions are secured, but the people of the communities are suffering from so much insecurity and so much crime, high gasoline prices and so much inflation in necessities. This administration is a complete failure.

It's a pity this goon typically sidestepped the first question regarding NATO's disregard of Ukraine. Then he launches into a cringe-worthy 🎉RAH RAH AMERICA 🎉. Ukraine has gained support across the viciously tribalistic American political divide, because Americans have a respectable, but ironic, hate for belligerent bullies. Your foreign policies have the same deluded smack of historical "manifest destiny", that almost guarantees future screw-ups because of present attitudes. Mad Vlad is slitting his own throat, but I'm afraid all the wrong lessons are being learned from this unfortunate event, that should be a clarion call for massive improvement globally.

The real Problem with NATO is simple. THEY are there for the defense of NATO countries ONLY. The whole concept is to defend NATO countries not be part of any type of invasion against none NATO aggressors. So in some ways there hands are tied as Ukraine is not part of NATO and the rules clearly state that NATO cannot interfere as a group.

- nato stepping in against russia means a domino escalation will happen and end up in a nuclear war. Putin is afraid of the nato and won't hesitate to use nukes if he's regime is threatened. - can't join nato if you're at war already, to avoid countries dragging others into their own local wars. - nato is not an army or a country, it's a defensive pact that englobes the rules of engagement, a unified command center and standardisation to allow a maximal efficiency in case of a war. Nato's budget is nothing but each member's budget additionned together. Nato members have done a lot for ukraine. From all types of material to training forces to new material (switchblades, caesar automotive canons, etc) to huge logistical support. They've been training ua forces since 2014. But stepping in, in ukraine, means a direct war with russia, so a global war ensuing. Be careful for what you wish, a war asks for a heavy tribute, even for winners.

Countries who wish to join NATO need to meet "certain political, economic and military goals" which at that time Ukraine had a simmering conflict and unresolved territorial disputes. Most importantly was that Ukraine was not allowed to join NATO then was because of concerns from European leaders about how that would affect their relationship with Moscow.

Kuleba is right but it's because NATO member have chossen to explicitly not use NATO structures. No one in NATO has been attacked so none of NATO's compulsory clauses have been triggered, so any NATO action would need to be a unanimous new effort, basically limiting such actions to the most recalcitrant members (looking at you Hungary). So simply for expediancy each nation is just sending support bilaterally.
