David is the best male singer in today’s musical world in so many ways…he can sing every genre and composes music and lyrics that comfort and pierce our hearts. Lyle, I remember watching your countenance when you first heard David sing “O, Holy Night”…and your “holy shxx, where did this guy come from..holy hell..”..watching you wipe your tears, I prayed then you would listen to more of his music to heal and comfort your broken heart. I’ve followed David for 30 years….after 30 years he can still sing the same songs in the same keys, which is a miracle in itself! I want you to go back and watch your first Reaction and then watch yourself listening to ones much later….and you’ll see what we see. You are so right about how David’s music is such soothing balm to our souls. I just spent the most intense 24 hours as my husband underwent quadruple by pass surgery. As I sat in the waiting room for many hours I just sat praying and listening to David’s music. Between the music and God’s grace and comfort I came through strengthened and renewed. I’m so grateful to have discovered David Phelps he has been such a blessing to me. I listen every day.

This was such a refreshing interview. God has called David and Lori as disciples. They have surrendered their lives to spreading the love and hope of Christ. David would probably be astounded at how many lives the lyrics of his songs have changed. His humbleness is one of the most enduring qualities that he shares with the world. David brought me out of depression and hopelessness, back to the Cross of my Savior and I will be eternally grateful that God led me to David and Loris' ministry.

Thank you for sharing this video. I, too, came from a family of singers, and my grandpa was a minister for many years, eventually going blind. I can't imagine how many lives David has touched through his music, and I'm one of them. Three years ago, I had gallbladder surgery (I always say extra prayers before surgery) that was to take 2 hrs. It was more then 5 hrs, and the doctor told my daughter my organs were starting to "shut down and collapse, and he was surprised I was still walking around". Last year, my second oldest daughter had Covid. She was not hospitalized and quarantined at home. She has breathing problems now but she survived. Today, my youngest son was released from the hospital to go home and gain his strength back. He, too, tested positive for Covid where he spent the past 5 days in ICCU. David's music, along with lots of prayers, helped me get through this rough time. I've been listening to David for the past 20/30 years, and I end my day with prayer and his beautiful singing voice.

David is THE BEST singer! My wife and I listen to him everyday on KZbin. This year we’ve been to 2 concerts, his Labor Day Barn Bash and Lord willing we’ll see him at his Christmas Barn Bash and then see him in our hometown in December. He blesses us with his talents as both a performer and songwriter but he’s a very humble and genuine person!

I'm almost certain he DOESN'T know how much, how many times, he's calmed an anxious heart or lifted a weary soul. His albums are where I go when I've had a rough time. His music also allows me to hold on to a wonderful feeling for a little longer. Such a down to earth man. Love, love, love him.

Thanks for sharing Lyle, just found your channel recently and am really enjoying it. As so many have already said, David is such a humble person about every aspect of his life. I've met David and his wife Lori several times, and you'd be hard pressed to find two people that are more warm and caring than they are. Super people. Davids comment about "Song for Sinners", "I wrote that on a Sunday afternoon"!! Talk about talent!! Wow!! Just incredible! Keep up the good work Lyle!!!

What an insight into one of the members of the Gather Vocal Band, excited to hear his album. When he David, touched on people losing their memory. Oh, my mother suffered with Alzheimer's, she passed suffering of this horrible disease...then my dad while taking care of her after she passed, he started to suffer with dementia and he sadly he passed with a heart attack (I believe he died of a broken heart!) My heart still aches with their passing.

He has affected my life. I was depressed and the Lord brought me to my computer where I was hunting Christian music. I came across David singing The Ending of the Beginning. When I listened to that I thought "oh, my goodness what a song and what a singer! I have followed him ever since. He sings with such passion and meaning. I love all of his music. That was a good interview and it let us know how he came up with some of his songs. Good comments by you. Oh gosh I am so embarrassed for I can't think of your name.
