In conjunction with his exhibition at MADRE museum, Naples (in the context of the ongoing platform Per_forming a Collection), artist and writer David Robbins has produced "Theme Song For An Exhibition," a cool, catchy pop song encouraging listeners to make their own culture.
The song's message is emphasized by its means of distribution. As part of the project, Robbins has shared the song with a network of major American and European art institutions, from London to Los Angeles, all of whom are launching it online simultaneously.
Like much of Robbins' work, "Theme Song For An Exhibition" is a characteristic blend of mass entertainment and high culture, its broadcast resembling the ubiquitous presence of a hit record on the airwaves.
