Also, this is the same song that was used in that "John K is a weird guy" video. This song fits John's personality so well.

Listen to Rocky 2 during the opening credits. Both are practically similar. Shire composed both because he was married to Talia Shire.

The Soundtrack Channel, from what I've heard, there hasn't been any release of this score on any music format. I'd like to know how you were able to find this track. Did you get it from the sound channels of the DVD (if that's even possible)? Or was it on a compilation CD, making this track the only one from this score to be released?

@johnsmith-zu5db8 жыл бұрын
No. Straight Time was never released as an LP or put onto the CD format. Apparently the score is too short for a single release. But hopefully, Intrada may one day release the score with another David Shire soundtrack. If you don't know, Intrada is a specialist film soundtrack releasing company that is able to get film scores from record and film studios that haven't been released to the public. Hope that helps.

Of course I know. Maybe we could put it in the suggestion box in the forum. Or ask Varèse Sarabande or La-La Land Records. I know at least La-La is open to suggestions, provided they have a good rapport with the film studios or the composer.

I did post on the Intrada forum quite a while back about Straight Time. Doug Fake said that there's no future plans to release it. Bit like one of my favourite Georges Delerue scores to A Man for All Seasons. That too has very little music. Anything is possible. Here's hoping that maybe someone will release it. Cheers!

Maybe one day an album will come out with the score to this film. Maybe even combined with those other scores the composer has done that don't have much music on them, as like a commemorative album to the composer. That seems like a reasonable way to do it to me.
