Joe Dirt is honestly one of my favorite comedies of all time. It’s one of the last to have a soul. Comedies used to have a heart in them, nowadays they are just a bunch of one liners and social commentary strung together with no underlying meaning. That’s what makes movies like Joe Dirt, Tommy Boy, Black Sheep, or even Happy Gilmore, Big Daddy etc. so damn special. I wish Hollywood would remember what makes these movies so good.

I've seen Joe Dirt so many times, I couldn't give a specific number but I would guess somewhere around 300 times. It's my favorite movie. I just left it in my DVD player. I'd come home at lunch, hit play. It didn't matter what scene was on, it is good all the way through. Having done that so many times one day I thought to watch it with David Spades commentary playing over the movie and that turned out to be even better than just watching the movie. Not only was it cool to hear behind the scenes stuff but it was equally as funny. Do yourself a favor, take the time to watch with his commentary if you haven't already, you won't be disappointed.
