Elsa Ride It was an Estuary accent. Both David and Matt used it, but Matt is the only one that it's natural. Christopher had a Greater Manchester accent.

Um, he faked an English accent, not a Scottish. He's Scottish, not English. After Christopher Eccleston's "northern accent" (that Rose makes a comment about during the first 9th Doctor episode, "Rose"), Russel T. Davis felt it would be better to just have the Doctor have a typical English accent and not go through the whole explanation of his accent again. David had already worked with Russel on Casanova, and he used an English accent for that. So, Russel asked David to use it again for Doctor Who. Now, there is a Doctor Who episode where you do hear his Scottish accent, and that is in Tooth And Claw. He uses his Scottish accent in Broadchurch, and majority of everything else he's acted in.

You mean fake a English accent. And an alien wouldn't have a Scottish accent. The reason why he does an English accent is because it sounds like he doesn't have an accent if you know what I mean. Also David is a massive fan so he likes to portray the doctor that doesn't change the character that he watched when he was a kid. In fact he's such a big Whovian that he made them change how The Doctor was credited fromDoctor Who to The Doctor in the credits; and every Whovian hates it when people call The Doctor, Doctor Who.

It's absolutely fantastic! Each Doctor has "made" his own character. I watched Tom Baker, fell in love with David Tennant and was upset when he left; however, Matt Smith was grand. On his final show, was sad again BUT the new Doctor always has "his" way. I'm taking Sebastien's advice and going through them all. Have a grand time! ¬ Janet

The moment Matt Smith took over, I totally disliked him, until the second moment he existed. I loved him! My favourite show is the one with John Hurt. They all three existed to fight whoever it was. ;-). John Hurt left, as did David then Matt thought about becoming the curator of an art gallery.
