@@properjellydontbeproper3652 Yes they're definitely helping supervise it but I doubt they'd put all their man power into it. I know Soejima did the designs but that's about all we know so far. I think people are overreacting to the spin-offs and P5 getting milked. Strikers was made by Koei Tecmo so that didn't really delay P6 either. Different development teams. I'm also fine if P6 takes a long time to come out because usually delayed games come out better than rushed ones.

The Shibuya 109 building just can't stay consistent. In Persona 5 it was 105, in Persona 5: Strikers - 705, in Code Name X trailer - 109, in this - 709. I wonder if the Velvet Room being an aquarium where a whale can be seen swimming is jokingly symbolic of people "whaling" on gacha games. Though, I'm not sure if this one is confirmed to be gacha.

I found one on page 446 of Persona 5 Official design works, but that one, while having an aquarium inside of the room, still has the jail elements... as well as a huge stained glass window, and (not counting the general color scheme) doesn't look anything like the P5X one, with its 'tunnel whose roof seems to be sea floor' aesthetic. So I'm guessing that's not the one you meant.

4:12 Merope seems to be a reference to the pleiades seven sisters/stars. Daughters of Atlas, the man known for carrying a boulder on his back for eternity. Merope is the Wife of Sisyphus, the man known for rolling a boulder up a mountain for eternity. Silver eyes = stars. Makes sense to me. Plus the frankenstein named characters have yellow eyes, so it kinda makes sense that someone with different eyes has a different reference. Can't wait to meet the other 6 sisters if this is a pleiades reference.

I'm not a mobile gamer, BUT this does look like a cut above your average mobile spin-off. I'm interested in seeing where this goes, especially how fusion might factor into the gameplay. I tend to spend like 50% of my playthrough times in the Velvet Room just messing around with fusions and filling out the compendium, so if X does makes that into an interesting gameplay loop I'll definitely change my tune about this.

@@flashdr1ve Totally. And I could see a similar mechanic like in Fire Emblem Heroes (the only mobile game I've dabbled in recently) where there are "Fusion Events" similar to FEH's Summoning Events. For example, for the next week you get a higher chance of getting a fusion accident with better skills, etc. Could be cool, but man, I'm not a fan of gacha-type systems.

The Codename X teaser gave off a whole different vibe compared to the official Atlus Persona 5: The Phantom X trailer. I really thought it was going to be like a hacking type mobile game or mysterious persona 5 spin-off or an Akechi prequel game like how Akechi got his powers.

When I saw this trailer 7-8 hours ago, I was like: Yooo... Once I realized it is a smartphone mobile game my hype went down. Positive: it has at least a PC port like Genshin Impact and let's hope the game is free 2 play friendly like Genshin, I will not spend hundreds of dollars on micro transactions, I have learned from my mistakes. I’m of two minds. In terms of the designs and style, it definitely seems worth a look. However, I am extremely concerned that it’s free-to-play in regards to the monetization model. Look at how much DLC Persona 5 and Royal had as full-price games. Honestly, I can live with the set content based DLC - but it would be unusual for a free-to-play mobile game to not include randomized micro-transactions (loot boxes or gacha) or convenience features. If they only go the set DLC route, then I’ll hear more. But if they exploit more addictive randomized micro-transactions then I will boycott it.

Seems this is their reaction to Genshin Impact and such, i'm curious how this game will function considering its a Gacha game couse i can't imagine u pull for characters so maybe the Personas are what u will be pulling? Regardless, considering it has the Atlus touch, lets see where this goes, couse i know from personal expirience that gacha games can be amazing both in story and gameplay(just look at Genshin and Honkai) and considering Atlus can't risk messing up the P5 franchise with giving it a bad rep i suspect it will at the very least look and play amazing. I'm sure we will get a western release as well, its not unheard of for them first launching it in china and a year later globally. That said, i hope we still get a new mainline game.

It's... interesting. At this point I've only been playing Persona for like a month and am only now in the third semester of Royal, and although I'll probably try this out whenever it comes to the west, I don't know what to feel really. Worst case scenario (and also a not entirely unlikely one with the developer and the platform) it's completely ruined by gacha and maybe the story is interesting so I watch the important cutscenes on KZbin. Best case scenario, it's decent and I still fall off within a year because mobile gaming is just so much worse than console gaming simply because of the platform. It doesn't look bad at this point, it looks pretty good for a mobile game actually, just nothing too special in the Persona series as a whole. Optimally the core of the plot and some gameplay aspects would be ported to consoles and PC in a full pacakge once the freemium version inevitably shuts down, but for now it doesn't look half bad. Just nothing I'm too excited for or think will blow my socks off.

I was hoping it’d be something like Chaos Rings 3 where it was a one time purchase and a full game but with it being a F2P game I’m gonna have to give this game a hard pass I HATE gotcha game bs (seriously the games end up costing way WAY too much) guess I’ll just keep replaying Royal on my switch lol

I have to wonder if this will tie in the loose ends with Jose in Royal. The bird mascot reminds me of Jose's egg-shaped hair, so I have to wonder whether this is connected to Royal or the vanilla/Strikers timeline. I always wondered why they would have this set-up for Jose with no payoff, so maybe this is where that plotline comes into play?

Not going to get excited for this until we find out what the monetization plans are for it. If it costs $5 to fuse a persona, I'm out. I hate gacha games with a passion. But I so want this to be something reasonable that isn't a total grindfest or "avoid the hundreds of hours of mindless grind for only $20".

Unless this game strips away most of p5 systems it's gonna be pretty hardcore. Even then it'll have to compete with Honkai Star Rail another turn based rpg gacha game by HYVR
