Thank you for this series, Pastor Guzik. It has been a blessing to me. I have been reading my Bible through in a year with a plan, so it hasn't been too long since I read through Joshua. This study has been a help to me in understanding this book of the Bible.

The battle plan to conquer Jericho was certainly unusual and unique. It didn't make sense. Could the battle plan be compared to us gaining victory in sanctification? When we are confronting the strongholds of sin in our hearts that need to be dealt with after salvation, we have to have faith and obedience as well. Thanks

Pastor Lance Replies - The Battle of Jericho was all about Israel learning to trust Go and just do what He said. Many stories of that int he Bible for God's people. We don't always see how when we do THIS thing God says, THAT thing will happen. Far and away, what God wants to develop in us is FAITH - simply trust in Him. That is what please Him.

I wonder why inhabitants of Jericho didn't shoot arrows down at the army marching around their city (were they too far away or did God intervene somehow?). Also wonder what was going through Rahab's mind at that time?

Pastor Lance replies - it was a common practice of the time to set a siege outside of bowshot. No doubt they circled the city beyond the reach of arrows.

Just a question....but early on you say that you believe Jesus...the commander of the Lord's army likely gave Joshua the strategy, but you say it doesn't say for sure. That you believe God gave him the strategy. But the second verse in chapter 6 clearly states that God told Joshua the plan. I love your videos and i am by no means anyone to challenge your knowledge...totally get a lot from your videos...i was just confused by those statements. Maybe i misunderstood. If your could clarify what you meant it would help me ...thank you.

It was absolutely Jesus Christ; just like the Three Angels that appeared to Abraham were Father, Son ,and Holy Spirit (they spoke all in ONE) ; just like Shadrach Meshach and Abednego had a fourth within the fire ; just like Adam heard the voice of the Lord ; just like Melchizedek , you want me to keep going?
