Diligent study of the Bible and the book of Job helps to really understand the book of Job and everything involved. In Job chapter 2 verse 3, "Then the LORD said to Satan, "Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil. And he still maintains his integrity, though you incited me against him to ruin him without any reason." First of all, God the Father already knows the entire situation. God is challenging Satan in that Satan gives no reason that is valid to attack Job. Satan does not list any of Job's sins to accuse him righteously. Satan's provocations are not justifiable for attacking Job, and Satan does not know Job's sins. However, God does know Job's past sins, which is the reason God allows Satan to attack Job, even while Satan is ignorant and evil towards Job's situation. As Job says to God during his duress, "Why do you not pardon my offenses and forgive my sins? For I will soon lie down in the dust; you will search for me, but I will be no more." -- (Job 7:21). Again, Job says, "For you write down bitter things against me and make me reap the sins of my youth." -- (Job 13:26). As Solomon stated in the book of Ecclesiastes, "For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil." -- (Ecclesiastes 12:14). While Job was punished for his past sins according to God's will in the book of Job (Job 42:1-6), both Satan and Job's friends (Job 42:7-9) went too far against Job in their actions and words against Job also, including that Job was unaware of Satan's actions the entire time. As a result of an example of God's mercy and compassion, at the end of Job's trial and punishment for his past sins, "After Job had prayed for his friends, the LORD restored his fortunes and gave him twice as much as he had before....The LORD blessed the latter part of Job's life more than the former part.." (Job 42:10-12). As the Bible says, "As you know, we count as blessed those who have persevered. You have heard of Job's perseverance and have seen what the Lord finally brought about. The Lord is full of compassion and mercy." -- (James 5:11). As an example with Job, God is merciful towards Job's past sins while Job also was punished for those sins, and God is compassionate towards Job in that he suffered too much at the hands of Satan and Job's very own friends, and God blessed Job more than almost anyone in the Bible as a result of God's compassion for this situation, which is "what the Lord finally brought about."

God doesn't bet. It was a test for Job and Satan. God doesn't bet. He doesn't have to bet when He already knows what Job is going to do and what gonna happen. No bet!
@nadzach7 ай бұрын
Maybe he tricked Satan. Job would not have grown in faith to be able to have this audible conversation with God. Pastor Guzik said that was Job's desire. I think this is the goal we are all called to have. "Seek my face." he says, but we know he is spirit and no one has seen God. Even Moses and Elijzh, who stood in a cleft of the same mountain, actually saw Jesus transfigured.. Jesus is the visible presence of God. Job got face time with God. It might have been like what Adam experienced with God in the garden. I see the wisdom in what you said. Einstein said something like that! Lol, great minds think alike. "God does not play dice with the universe."

Love your detailed explanations. I've been searching YT for more 'modern' teachings of bible. Some people cover some, others cover others. I dont think you cover more apocryphal texts though. Been looking for book of jasher. I've tried starting at beginning in genesis and know non canonical books are missing. Been watching a lot on enoch. Fallen Angel's. Mt hermon. Canaan. Book of giants etc. I wish some of these books were more easily available in detailed modern english. Ken johnson has good channel. Please consider covering these missing texts. There's a reason they're missing.

The book of Job is so intriguing. When I 1st read it I questioned if Satan was kicked Out of heaven, he was no longer welcome how n why was he able to come before God going back n forth to n from heaven and earth. I've since heard that the book of Job may have been written before Adam and Eve's time, before Satan was intimate with Eve. And so Satan was doing what God allowed him to do at that time. I see that now. Next God knows everything about everyone so He knew Satans intention before he came to God with his quest. God also knowing Job n wanting to teach Job a lesson. There's no bet on what Job would or wouldn't do. God already knew the outcome. In the end Job is shown by God humility and how his thinking was out of line.

Pastor Lance replies - Job makes clear that Satan has NOT been kicked out of heaven yet. We don't see that happen until the Book of Revelation and the judgments of the end times. it is his being booted out of heaven that result sin some of the real problems of the Tribulation on earth.

Oh, my. I was listening shortly after the very beginning part, where i it was preached/said that it was if all of heaven…the angels…the fallen angels and God Himself were as if on the edge of their seats waiting to see what Job would do. God Himself? Oh, my. Yikes! God is omniscient. I know you said “as if”, but it still sounds off. God is the only one that knows all from beginning to end.
@DavidGuzikEnduringWord10 ай бұрын
True! God knows all things, from start to finish. Yet in some limited sense, we might imagine there was a small, perhaps even self-imposed degree of suspense for our omniscient Lord, in that (like each of us) Job had a "real choice" concerning how he would respond to the Accuser. God knew then and knows now how each of us can respond (what is in our hearts and minds) and how we will have responded (what the endpoint of every decision will be after it's made) but the freedom to choose whether to obey or disobey is vested in each of us. I n this sense, while God knows all and every possible outcome, our actual decisions and choices are not entirely predetermined - it is up to each of us to act in accordance to God's will, or accept the consequences. Thanks for watching and for your comment!

@DavidGuzikEnduringWord In Genesis 22, God told Abraham after Abraham was about to carry out the sacrifice of Isaac, "Now I know that you fear God." I have triple underlined those three words in my Bible, "Now I know". Some people say that the test was for Abraham's sake, to strengthen Abraham's faith, but that's not what God says. He says "Now" I know", as in before I didn't know, but now I do. And He says "I", not Abraham, but God. I don't think there are easy answers when it comes to our God, and I'm glad of it. :)

Its interesting that Satan didn’t take Job’s wife along with their children. Was she an already existing source of misery in Job’s life?
@DavidGuzikEnduringWord2 жыл бұрын
The Bible is silent on that, but she certainly wasn't encouraging to him in Job 2:9!
@googleplex7097 Жыл бұрын
Satan saw what happened with Adam and Eve and probably bet that this situation would end in a similar way. Also you have to remember that Job was blessed in every way imaginable so having a bad wife before this misfortune was not very likely.
