Great opening question! Recently I have been asking the Lord to show me why lucifer was called that and when reading through Revelation I came to where Jesus called Himself the Morning Star and in my spirit the Holy Spirit resolved that Jesus is indeed therefore do not be stuck on something that doesn't need to be explained. I was at peace with His response. Then today, He provides such a (now) obvious answer. Lucifer was called that before his fall when he still had the image of his Creator. I thank God for you and your ministry.

I would take the temptation as two different types. Someone could tempt Jesus in the way that a criminal might tempt a judge with a bribe; but Jesus in Himself was never tempted in His being to ever sin. The act of someone offering temptations vs the act of being tempted by those temptations. Hopefully this doesn't just sound like word salad, it makes sense in ny head. Jesus lives! ♥️ and is Yahweh God 🙏🏻 Christ ✝️ and King 👑

The question about the philistines coming from angles could come from the concept of giants being the offspring of Nephilim, .and Goliath being a philistine

I would have thought the answer to the question would be that the “ more mature “ person would not want to do the less edifying things as an example to the “ less mature “ person as an example, to not create a problem, or a stumbling block. Romans 14:13 Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother’s way. Kjv Read the whole chapter. Gb

The Bible does not refer to satan as "Morning Star" or "Daystar" but "son of the morning", Jesus Christ is The Morning Star.
@NicholasPadres24Ай бұрын
The reason that Satan is referred to as "morning star" as stated in Isaiah 14:12 comes from Ezekiel chapter 28 verses 12 through 15, which says, "You were the seal of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. You were in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone adorned you: carnelian, chrysolite and emerald, topaz, onyx and Jasper, lapis lazuli, turquoise and beryl. Your settings and mountings were made of gold; on the day you were created they were prepared. You were anointed as a guardian cherub, for so I ordained you. You were blameless in your ways from the day you were created till wickedness was found in you." Wickedness was found in Satan when he deceived Eve into her death sentence in Genesis chapter 3, and Satan's wickedness continued on as described in Isaiah chapter 14, Ezekiel chapter 28 and even the book of Job, among other places in the Bible.

I really do not understand why some of state Satan as the morning star. In the KJV Isaiah 14:12 It does not say morning star instead it says “O Lucifer, son of the morning! No where does it say morning star. However, in Revelation 22:16 Jesus says, “I am the root and the offspring of David and the bright and morning star.” Jesus is referred as the morning star and Satan was once referred as son of the morning. It is that simple and clear that Satan is never called the morning star ONLY JESUS IS REFERRED AS THE MORNING STAR!!!! PRAISE GOD!!!

Enduring Word related Question: Can you please tell us what this upcoming App update might be? Or at least provide some clue? (Throw us a bone of some sort). Por favor. Your mention of an upcoming update has left me a bit cliffhanger, my curiosity is above average level at this point. Thank you Pastor David & Enduring Word Team. Peace be with you, and Praise the Lord for His Goodness & Provision of Salvation. Jesus Loves Us! P.S: I can’t tell you how helpful it has been, hearing you preface and articulate clearly when your answers to questions are speculation or appealing to mystery etc. This has been HUGE for me, prior to discovering Enduring Word and your weekly Q&A, I just assumed Theologians & Pastors have some relationship with God that I don’t have, that they have some unique Spiritual Gift where they can see things in Scripture that I cannot see, no matter how hard I try, as if they have special supernatural vision when they stare at these same pages I have in my Bible, that they are able to see things, I simply cannot. I acknowledge it may feel redundant on your part, to preface each time before you answer “The Bible does not clearly say, therefore I will speculate” but wow this is Huge. I sure hope it catches on, I have been deceived quite a bit here & there since getting saved, I believed things wholeheartedly that were not in the Bible, and were divisive. Bless you!

Pastor Lance replies - Hahahahahaha. The update is going to dramatically change the access to other languages of the commentary. It's one of our priorities at EW to provide solid Biblical resources for the Church in other countries.

@@DavidGuzikEnduringWord I’m glad you liked my little comment (haha). Suggestion: If you access Guzik’s commentary from BLB at very top it says “click Here” and it still scroll down to the exact verse you wanted commentary on can you make something at top of EW app where you can type in the verse you want to be instantly scrolled down to? Otherwise you snorts have to scroll & scroll, and sorta pay attention so you don’t keep passing it etc… Jesus loves you!

Question: Acts 8:37 is in the KJV, NKJV, MEV (Modern English Version) & the first Bibles, but not in most modern translations. Why? And do you think it is in fact Scripture? Do you have any speculation on potential motives for removing it? There’s a handful of other verses with the same exact thing happening - they are present in the Bible’s that use the Textus Receptus, but not at all present in the Translations that don’t use the Textus Receptus. And there are no verses that are present in any modern translation that is not found in the Textus Receptus Bibles (The problem only goes one way, not a two way issue) can you talk about that, and give your bias on which Greek text you prefer & why. And are you at all suspicious of any Greek texts, if so which ones & why? I’ve heard one or some of the popular ones were put together by Atheists, is that true? Thank you!

Some bibles do say the morning star like the NIV, also the roman catholic bible calls him that in 2 places. Its a title that he is given, nothing more. There are multiple explanations for this. Adam is called the son of God but we dont think the bible calls Adam Jesus.

What about Job? Didn't he ask God to forgive any sins that his children might have committed?
@lisaortiz11Ай бұрын
@@ashdutoit9764 just as someone like David who had many wives we are not to follow suit. That is a sin yet David - God called him a man after God heart, sinned in that area of his life along with other sins he committed. The story of job praying was what he did for his children probably as all us parents do. So I see it is that yes job prayer for his children sins but doesn’t mean God will save them through salvation through jobs prayers. Hope that helps.
@evangel1737Ай бұрын
That's a good question 🤔 But Jesus Christ of Nazareth had not yet come and presented Salvation. Man had not been presented with a Savior, but Job did oversee his entire household, and he was an upright man before God and walking in the understanding he did have. Acts 17:30 says at one time God winked at men's ignorance but now commands all men everywhere to repent.
