1 Peter 2:2-10. Today is May 6, 2023. And on this day, let us pray for newborns and their parents.
@bobingalls46434 ай бұрын
it doesn't refer to newborn babies. The newborns are those starting out in Christianity as newborns desiring the milk which is the word.

I agree according to this sermon with every word of 1 peter 2 for my life for all days and eternity to come in the name and blood of Jesus Christ, Yeshua: amen. 1 Peter 2 King James Version (KJV) 2 Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings, 2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby: 3 If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious. 4 To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious, 5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. 6 Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded. 7 Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner, 8 And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed. 9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light; 10 Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy. 11 Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul; 12 Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation. 13 Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme; 14 Or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well. 15 For so is the will of God, that with well doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men: 16 As free, and not using your liberty for a cloke of maliciousness, but as the servants of God. 17 Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king. 18 Servants, be subject to your masters with all fear; not only to the good and gentle, but also to the froward. 19 For this is thankworthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully. 20 For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God. 21 For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: 22 Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth: 23 Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously: 24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. 25 For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.1 Peter 2 King James Version (KJV) 2 Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings, 2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby: 3 If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious. The PREACHERS SHOULD BE the FIRST ONES TO DESIRE THAT PURE MESSAGE of GOD and NOT Their OWN INTERPRETATION that are sometimes according TO THEIR OWN WILL and PLANs. The BEREANS always check the messages that Paul said IF the MESSAGE is IN ACCORDANCE WITH The WORD OF GOD. The HOLY SPIRIT IS OUR GREAT and FINAL TEACHER. Preachers Should Always LEAD PEOPLE TO GOD and NOT to Themselves. Paul made a WARNING on This. (Acts 20:27-30) For I have not hesitated to proclaim to you the whole will of God. Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which he bought with his own blood. I know that after I leave, savage wolves will come in among you and will not spare the flock. Even from your own number men will arise and distort the truth in order to draw away disciples after them.

Who was Peter talking to? The gentiles?

I believe to the Church.

Gentiles, yes, those living in the regions he states in the first chapter, modern day Turkey
@Bkres Жыл бұрын
The following is for your consideration. Peter is writing to the believing group of Israel, i.e. the "little flock." Peter addresses his letter to the "pilgrims (or strangers) of the Dispersion." The audience to which Peter was writing were not at home in Gentile territory (the regions listed in verse 1); hence, they were not Gentiles, but scattered Jews. Some of the regions Peter lists are also listed in Acts, Chapter 2 (Pentecost) where the crowd was all Jews who had come for the festival ("in Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation under heaven," "Men of Judea," "Men of Israel"). God had promised to scatter them (Deuteronomy 4:27 - And the LORD shall scatter you among the nations, and ye shall be left few in number among the heathen, and Ezekiel 6:8 - Yet will I leave a remnant, that ye may have some that shall escape the sword among the nations, when ye shall be scattered through the countries). The Jews through the years, by conquering countries, had been dispersed throughout the nations, and in closeness to Peter's epistle this had especially happened in Acts 8 where we read that Saul's persecution scattered the church in Jerusalem. James writes his epistle to the very same group: to the twelve (Jewish) tribes which are scattered abroad. In verse 4 Peter writes "Christ, which according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again." Gentiles would not be begotten of God again; Israel was God's firstborn (Exodus 4:22 - Israel is my son, even my firstborn). Also, in 1:18 he writes "received by tradition from your fathers." This is another clue to who Peter's audience is; he is referring to the fathers of Israel. Fast forward to 2:9, and Pastor Guzik states the four positions listed apply to both Jews and Gentiles. However, please consider Gentiles are never in scripture so named (one exception, see below), but the Jews are. Chosen generation: Psalm 33:12 (a chosen nation), Isaiah 41:8-9 (But thou, Israel, art my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen), Mark 1:15 (John the Baptist said "the kingdom is at hand,"; it was Peter's chosen generation to whom God was made manifest in the flesh). Royal priesthood: Exodus 19:6 (And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests), Isaiah 61:6 (But ye shall be named the Priests of the Lord). A holy nation: Exodus 19:6 (an holy nation), Deuteronomy 14:2 (an holy people). A peculiar people: Exodus 19:5 (ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people), Deuteronomy 14:2 (the LORD hath chosen thee to be a peculiar people unto himself), Deuteronomy 26:18 (to be his peculiar people), Psalm 135:4 (and Israel for his peculiar treasure). (In Titus 2:14, Paul does write "a peculiar people"). In verse 10 Peter is quoting the Jewish prophet Hosea 1:9-10, and 2:23. Peter is speaking to the believing remnant of Israel, the "little flock" (see Luke 12:32). In verses 11-12 Peter writes "I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, . . . having your conversation honest among the Gentiles." By context the "strangers and pilgrims" cannot be Gentiles - the context is clear they are a different group. I hope these comments are helpful as you study 1 Peter.

Paul tells us that we are to give up our freedom if it means the salvation of another believer. 1 Cor 6:12; 8:9-11

Scientific studies show that the masks do not prevent the covid -19 spread. I only wear it when required in order to buy groceries. The so called vaccine is not really a vaccine, since it cannot prevent the person from getting the virus. it is an experimental gene therapy that has not been approved by the FDA. But don't get into arguments with people. No one will listen since they have been indoctrinated by loads of mis-information.
