In this age many people feel defined by a calling that's on their lives. Pastor David Guzik talks about how although a calling does not define or identify us, we have been called by our creator to fulfill a special calling.

This man of God has truly brought so much understanding of who God is and His plan of redemption. Pastor Guzik is so simple and pure in his delivery of his message. God has truly spoken to me through Pastor Guzik. I feel at peace and less condemned in that Pastor Guzik has made so much so clear to me. God is truly using this very powerful humble and pure man of God. He is truly a man after God's own heart. I feel inspired each time. HALLELUJAH!! Give all praise to God my Father. @David Guzik I was not aware that you did not have formal Bible training or go to seminary. I found it encouraging to hear you say that. I have been doing what I think my calling is for a few years now (spend many years in "seasons of training" to get ready). Like you, I do not have any formal Bible training, seminary time or even have a collage degree. There have been times when I had thoughts of how can I effectively minster to people if I don't have that kind of training. I grew up in church and came to Christ around 19-20 so I have had a lot of exposure to the Gospel by listening to solid teachers such as yourself and self study. Over the years I have found that you and I think/believe very much alike on Biblical issues. I think I have only found one, maybe two things I did not fully agree with you on but that was more semantics than that substance. I have used your commentary to help support the points I am making when talking to people and for my podcast because you have more details than I do. It helps seeing how effective you have been in your calling without the formal training. Thank you again for all that you do.

Amen!! Such a great message. I loved hearing your 5th grade report and hearing how you have written Bible commentary without formal training. Amazing! God made us for His Glory and there is nothing better than understanding our calling and living it out. I was raised a JW. I loved knocking on people’s doors and sharing scriptures with strangers. Now as a born again Christian I understand I was created that way. I’m an evangelist. I don’t try to but I always share Jesus with people.

I attend CCModesto and I have seen you there twice but it was your last visit there that got my attention. My sister and I now use your commentary and we love it (we are in Jonah). Am listening to you and I think out of this lesson it called me to look back at my childhood days to IDENTIFY my call and was I was preparing for the now.. Now it's not PROUD its happy to Know I can be use by GOD and the GLORY belongs to him....am proud to be a child OF GOD not condemn for my yesterday years but remembered by God......to be proud of is different from BEING prideful...just like to take CONTROL of is DIFFERENT from BEING a controller...thanks you pastor David guzik for your EVERYDAY teaching,,,,,please pray that I may understand and know the WISDOM and KNOWLEDGE of GOD ❤

Great message! Thanks. I too had some old report cards. Teachers put on mine "Jana daydreams." They always had to move me...too chatty. Had even been sent to school counselor for my unusual imagination. :) Nothing bad, just had an otherworldly imagination. Math was never my thing, but writing and words sent me into orbit. Loved to help people understand things...hmmm...I know my calling, at least in part. Teacher.

I love you brother, but this is so far from biblical the way I see it. Please don't think for a second that I mean to attack or anything. But nowhere in the entire Bible it's said that each one of us has a special calling in the sense you're referring to. There are people whom God chooses for a special calling, but for the rest of us, we are called to live our lives with honesty, holiness, and Thanksgiving. Moreover, each one is called to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ and to be an ambassador of Jesus Christ to the world. This is no small calling. I waited for a single verse where our Lord or any of the apostles told the entire church you have a calling and didn't hear a single verse. This idea of individual calling is an American thing not biblical. I don't think being an ambassador for Christ at home, work and everywhere else qualifies to being thrown into the universe. I know this is where you started, but then moved into the American version of this biblical teaching. Please feel free to correct me. I'm really eager and willing to be corrected and admit my mistake
