So interesing!! Thanks again. Always excited when new episide drops. Wasnt sure if there would be another before christmas. Saw all these crusader ruins in Israel still standing. And those monasteries in the dessert must have started then.

Thank you for sharing such a superbly researched history, which helps me understand the hostility towards Christianity in many of the locations you mention. In addition to the powerful spiritual dimension, I'm sure this is also related to the atrocities committed against Jews, Muslims and even other Christians, supposedly in the Name of Jesus. While watching today, our Lord's parable of the birds lodging in the branches of the mustard tree came to mind: unnatural growth, providing cover for the ministers of Satan. Although the perspective of history can enable us to assume a moral superiority over our forebears, I wonder to what extent believers today replicate the mistakes of the past, in seeking cultural domination over those who don't yet know Jesus, rather than sharing the Gospel with them, serving sacrificially and allowing the Holy Spirit to work in their hearts. Wishing a blessed and peaceful Christmas to all the Enduring Word team and your families.
