There is only one thing most people are scared of that stops them doing what you’re going to do. The word you were looking for is Security. Giving up the security of a regular pay cheque, giving up the security of a house, giving up the security of you’re friends. Been there, it’s damn difficult, but once you take the leap you will wonder why you didn’t do it sooner. Well done guys you are nearly there, just have to wait until you throw them dock lines off , then you will experience a different feeling.

That jump off the rock was the absolute perfect metaphor for changing your life. I've done a few of those in my lifetime and they never get easier, even though I already know that the payout will be worth it at every leap. It's never NOT scary as shit. You are literally letting go of a part of you, and you will never be the same. What made me jump every time is the curiosity of what the new me is going to be like. I'm a sucker for mystery. Its like really really wanting to know how the next episode is going to unravel, except that it's not a TV show, but my life.

*Kia ora (hello) Mary & David 🙂 Oh Mary this video is the best... you just sitting back & so relaxed and chatting about what you want... from sailing around the world. Plus discovering over time, that you don't actually need much... 🙂 So yep You, David & the kids, do go to all them places on the boat and when you come on down to NZ, do a meet up in Auckland... cos I will be there. David made you a promise on film to go to Greece... and we the subs will be holding him to that promise. Oh and Mary always double check that David has all the radios & technology turned on... and also making sure all life-jackets are worn on the kidlets 🙂NZ*

I honestly love people that do this but as a son of an expatriate couple, I lived in 5 countries and went to 3 different schools. The actual experiences of different cultures - fantastic. However, you don't get to build up lifetime friendships (I only have 3 "true" friends). Mileage will vary but you have 4 children. Homeschooling is fine and all that but the cruising lifestyle of here today, gone tomorrow can be incredibly stressful in some ways for the kids. Even Delos mentioned that when their daughter is old enough, they'll probably find a place to anchor down and only cruise when school is out. I do wish you well but hope you have thought deeply about this. It's a great lifestyle for childless people. Much love from the Caribbean!
