MAUI - DON'T DO THIS at Olivine Pools

We head to the Olivine Pools where Morgan was almost swept off the rocks by a rogue wave into the water. For sure one of the scarier experiences that we've had together. We also hit Coconut's Cafe for lunch and Maui Brewing Co for a beer tour!

All of the pacific coastline has common 'rogue' waves, but if you watch the locals they are counting the wave pattern to see when the set is done. If there are no locals, dont even think about the going in 'if in doubt stay out'

You are so lucky. She did exactly the right thing. When we get slammed by those waves picking opihi we clamp down like a crab and hang on. Many, many people have died along that coast line over the years. be safe.

Absolutely! And she’s a rockstar for thinking so quick. It’s crazy because we were talking about it all morning and felt like we weren’t in any danger. Then one rogue wave changed that quick!

Love you guys, but just a tip when traveling to hawaii again. Winter is when the north side shores are on the rougher side. Summer is the south side shores. So it is normally advised not to swim on those coast, especially in the tipepools and rocky areas, during those seasons. Even the locals avoid them if they're not super advanced swimmers and know how to ride the tides if they get swept out. Also one thing we learned from babytimes is never turn your back on the ocean. You guys make amazing videos, and safety first!

@@seansiquig there is a private property sign, so trespassing if caught will be a fine and court date, leaving your rent a car and hiking is an invitation for theft, broken windows, popped trunk locks plus contract with rent a car companies states if vehicle damage to this area is outside of contract so 100% liable for any and all damages. Not worth the effort when there are closer and easier destinations. Good luck

@ 2:26 Of course you realize that you are encouraging others to do what you did. If your girlfriend had been swept off the rocks as warned was a possibility, we would have watched a totally different video on KHON News instead. Fly in with the Friendly Skies, fly out in a body bag. In 2019 two tourists died in East Maui. One of them was a guy who loved to take selfies at the edge where a waterfall tumbles into the ocean. Guess what happened to him? The second, a woman, went missing for two weeks. On March 2, 2021 two guys went on a hike despite flash flood warnings having been issued. They found one floating offshore, the other is still missing.
