I have an older lifepo4 energizer power station only has a 144wh battery and a 240 watt inverter and claims to do just 8amps out of the dc. I've found that I can power up a 5kw diesel heater when the battery is fully charged and not when less than about 60 percent. These smaller batteries might be able to hold a higher voltage if you test them fully charged. Thanks for these videos.

It would be nice if they could lengthen the screen time linger through the firmware update. I just bought one of these on an Amazon 4th of July sale (US) for $198US. Not bad. Nice to get a look at the guts of the unit.

I'm surprised you were unable to power the diesel heater. I have the EB3a and it works perfectly powering my 5kw diesel heater. Ran for 12 hours from full charge with 45% charge remaining.
@DavidMcLuckie2 жыл бұрын
And that's why I want to test various portable heaters with the power stations. As the Jackery powered the same heater that the EcoFlow and Bluetti couldn't. State of charge may also play a factor in this.

@David McLuckie Your cable from the heater may be too small for the length, and you are suffering voltage drop/sag along that supply cable for the heater. Try shortening or using a larger gauge cable. My friend had this issue with his, and this I found was the problem

I there do you think the 13 amp 3 pin socket could be rotated while you have the EB3A taken apart,as when the EB3A is on a work surface it's to close to the work surface to plug any of my camera chargers in. Factory moulded 13 amp plugs seem to be long in length.

Unlikely. The connection with the rest of the system tells that particular BMS to turn the output on/off etc. But it would be fairly easy to just remove that board and solder on a seperate BMS.

Thanks for your video. Since the purchase of the EB3A I´ve been using the unit in intensive mode 40 times. One charge a day in stardard mode from the wall socket and discharge along the day in different appliances (washing machine (cold programm), laptop, mobiles charging, home lightning,...) and I´ve noticed that it is lasting longer to charge from 0% to 100% from the first day. And I guess one day will be time to change the battery pack. Is it really difficult to build a battery pack for replacement with its BMS as seen in your video? Do we need to use the same BMS?

Should be technically possible. The only problem I can forsee is if you were to plug together a fully charged battery to a flat one. As they would try to even the voltage and you could get a large current flow between them.

Great video! I purchased one of these on Prime Days (Amazon) and would love to use this for portable ham radio ops, but the limit to 10 amps DC also would limit my TX power. While you were in there did you see anywhere to tap off to get 12v but have a greater than 10 amp service? I'd rather not have to drag my 30 amp power supply to run the Yaesu as that wouldn't be very portable. 😉

You could try tapping of the batteries before they go into the inverter. But this would still be at battery voltage and would need to be stepped down to your 12V

You have to use the DC barrel plug and regulate the voltage and amperage to what it indicates for the MPPT charge regulator in the unit. I've seen DIY lithium ion add on battery packs, I'd prefer a LiFePo4 instead of a Li-on battery pack for a back-up. For the solar then you have to have a MPPT solar charge regulator to run your solar to the battery pack to keep the whole thing charged.
