I have this unit as well as a jackery 500. I will say the biggest pro for this unit vs something like my jackery is the eb3a charges to 80% in an hour charging with 110v. My jackery takes 8h.

From what I've heard, Jackery has incredible marketing and customer support. The products themselves are great, but not as great as they could be.

During normal times I'd totally want to use this as an UPS, and maybe power some speakers, mixer and amplifiers with my band for a short outdoor gig. But here in Europe we'll be getting into some very turbulent energy market as winter creeps closer. There is an EU model of Bluetti EB3A but apparently that's not sold here yet. I'd like to buy one with a 50w solar panel as a small backup for charging my devices during possible rolling blackouts.

I would recommend you get at least a 100w panel because no matter which one you get they all tend to deliver about 80% of the rated watts. This particular model can handle up to a 200w. By the way, I just got this same power and I like it a lot.

If you plan to keep it charged with a wall outlet, it could be a good backup for blackout time. If you plan to be totally autonom with EB3A and a solar panel, you will be disappointed. I live in Thailand (sunny from 6AM to 6PM) and i have a 100W mono solar panel. The max input i can get is 70W when it is a sunny day. As soon as it is a bit cloudy, i get 20W only or... nothing at all. BLUETTI EB3A is well known now as having a problem with solar panel charging. It is called "Input blinking".

That's a good use for the power station. Good idea on the solar panel, but I recommend a 100W to 200W panel for the best solar recharging.

Question; what happens If a 200W load is used on the cigarrete DC plug? It's max. power is just 134W so would not want to cause permanent damage to the station.

The 12 V power circuit is protected by a car fuse, often rated at 10 to 20 amperes, which amounts from 120 to 240 watts. Most car power outlets have a 150-watt maximum. Some Trucks use 24v dc mostly likely less amps. Depends the plug is set. watts = volts x amps Note the load on dc or AC output is different from the inputs. So you can input dc voltage without hurting the various outputs. Solar dc changes and the MPPT Controller regulates charging into the battery as it being used dc & ac output. So dc should not hurt as along max voltage and amp is not exceeded. If doesn’t the units over charge would shut down the port or device.

Funny thing about 2500 cycles is that it will last well beyond that because most people do not do full cycles and the thing will break before the batteries go. 2 year warranty is cool but for most people will not see 500 at that time.

I just got the EB3A and while I’m liking it it doesn’t charge my iPhone 12 max very good on the wireless top part when it’s not plugged into an AC power supply. The phone gets hot. The top of the device gets hot and I don’t know if I have a bad unit or if that’s typical. 🤷‍♂️ Also it regularly puts out an unusual smell while only having my CPAP and one light on while on AC power. I’m wondering if I should return this one or if this is all normal for this little guy? IDK? 🤷‍♂️

Amazon has it for $209 today with the $90 coupon! Your food processor needed a load like actual food to cut up to probably raise its watts use. First thing you should do is update the firmware to the latest. The latter firmware updates fixed UPS Bypass and also solar input charging problems. Also a nice plus that it changed the screen timeout to 1 minute instead of the 30 secs out of the box.

I’ve heard stories of units being ‘bricked’ after firmware attempts. Do you have more info on the firmware update ?

@@VMGIN I've gone through al firmware updates no issues. The bricking incidents are very few. Just keep your phone close to the EB3A and make sure it has some decent charge to it. Also after every update expect the percentage to be wierd so drain it to zero percent and let it turn itself off and then recharge and it should recalibrate.

@@VMGIN All cases I've heard, after waiting on the battery to self drain, they were able to charge it a bit, then connect via the app again to finish the update.

Hey there, They do sell a car charging cable on their website, which you can find here: www.bluettipower.com/products/eb3a-car-charging-cable However, it looks like it's out of stock at this time. As for the MC4 to solar panel cable, they don't have that cable on their site. At least, I couldn't find it. Any MC4 cable would work with this power station, provided it has a DC end to use with the DC input port located on the power station.

You can use a cigarette lighter plug. The size plug is 8mm. I bought one that had a 5521 plug but I had an adapter that works.

I bought one a month ago, currently they ship you separately the car and solar charge cables at no extra cost. Arrived about 2 weeks after I ordered the EB3A.

I wouldn't recommend it. Don't want to risk damaging the unit. I'd stick with a 200W panel.

It's not precisely a 1200W output. Power Lifting mode makes your appliances think that they're receiving enough power, but in a way, you could power two devices that reach a 1200W output using Power Lifting mode. Whether they run optimally can be questionable, though.

No, not all of them. Only a select few of their newer power stations use Bluetooth for now.

Just be warned that at 600 watts this unit will last maybe 8 minutes! The UPS feature is nice if you use a CPAP since if the power goes out it won't interrupt the power to the CPAP.

Yeah, the capacity doesn't exactly match up to the output. However, that does make the unit pretty interesting and low priced.

@@chargerharbor I have one and the UPS feature has not worked well for me. Also you have to look at the watts being used and the capacity and converting 12V to 120V consumes energy so you are better just to buy a basic back up. I would not buy this again but it will work for a battery back up.

I have regular outages and my golabs r300 makes a difference. I can run and charge basic devices. In an outage a movie, plugging in the wifi makes a nice difference. Handy af for this old dame.
