Morning David. Well, truth be told, I skipped over the beer and went straight to the Abbey because I don't drink beer and alcohol. What a beautiful building, still standing strong and in pristine condition. 1872-2022. So nice of you to pay homage to your grandmother. May God bless her soul. I can't believe the amount of cheese they produce there. WOW!!! Leave it to you to buy beer at the gift shop, I love the glass though. You should have bought 4 to make a set. Hi, Maredsous is not brewed by monks, it's brewed by Duvel Moortgat for the abbey. It doesn't have the authentic trappist logo like Orval or Chimay...

Maredsous have been asked by many customers to brew a non-alcoholic beer, or a zero degree if you want. They are not ready.... What you believe being prosciuto is "jambon d'Ardenne", 18 months of smoking and drying minimum.
