David, you’ve been killing it lately. Your teachings on Colossians 2:16-17, 1 Corinthians 5:7-8, Galatians 4:8-11 have been so well done and have really bolstered my apologetics and Bible study notes on these passages. Your interviews with these scholars is also helpful. Mark 7, Acts 21 and this video on Hebrews are awesome. Keep up the good work.

It was apart of the curses God promised to bring upon His people for disobedience to Torah from the beginning. The Temple and Priesthood is a blessing and privilege that we lost due to our disobedience. Yeshua will reinstate these things at His return and we will once again be able to fully walk out the whole Torah. ““But if you will not obey the voice of the Lord your God or be careful to do all his commandments and his statutes that I command you today, then all these curses shall come upon you and overtake you. “The Lord will bring you and your king whom you set over you to a nation that neither you nor your fathers have known. And there you shall serve other gods of wood and stone. You shall father sons and daughters, but they shall not be yours, for they shall go into captivity. “All these curses shall come upon you and pursue you and overtake you till you are destroyed, because you did not obey the voice of the Lord your God, to keep his commandments and his statutes that he commanded you.” Deuteronomy 28:15, 36, 41, 45 ESV “But if you turn aside from following me, you or your children, and do not keep my commandments and my statutes that I have set before you, but go and serve other gods and worship them, then I will cut off Israel from the land that I have given them, and the house that I have consecrated for my name I will cast out of my sight, and Israel will become a proverb and a byword among all peoples. And this house will become a heap of ruins. Everyone passing by it will be astonished and will hiss, and they will say, ‘Why has the Lord done thus to this land and to this house?’ Then they will say, ‘Because they abandoned the Lord their God who brought their fathers out of the land of Egypt and laid hold on other gods and worshiped them and served them. Therefore the Lord has brought all this disaster on them.’”” 1 Kings 9:6-9 ESV “Has this house, which is called by my name, become a den of robbers in your eyes? Behold, I myself have seen it, declares the Lord. Go now to my place that was in Shiloh, where I made my name dwell at first, and see what I did to it because of the evil of my people Israel. And now, because you have done all these things, declares the Lord, and when I spoke to you persistently you did not listen, and when I called you, you did not answer, therefore I will do to the house that is called by my name, and in which you trust, and to the place that I gave to you and to your fathers, as I did to Shiloh. And I will cast you out of my sight, as I cast out all your kinsmen, all the offspring of Ephraim.” Jeremiah 7:11-15 ESV “You shall say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord: If you will not listen to me, to walk in my law that I have set before you, and to listen to the words of my servants the prophets whom I send to you urgently, though you have not listened, then I will make this house like Shiloh, and I will make this city a curse for all the nations of the earth.’”” Jeremiah 26:4-6 ESV

I could be wrong but I'm thinking that He allowed it for the same reason or reasons that He allowed Shlomo's temple to be destroyed by the Babylonians. In Matt 21:15 Yeshua references Jer 7:11. Which is a passage prophesying the destruction of Shlomo's temple. But Yeshua is applying the passage to Herod's temple. It seems to me that Yeshua was saying that just as Shiloh was destroyed (which is where the tabernacle stood after the land of Canaan was taken by Yisrael) and Shlomo's temple was destroyed because of corruption so will this temple be destroyed. But that is just me. I could be way off base.

I think 'Christianity replacing Judaism' is one bad path. I think another bad path is relying on 'Judaism' as the theology arm of understanding God's perfect Torah. Judaism is a loaded word and much of it outside of orthodoxy is so off path it has nothing to do with God's ways. Even orthodoxy is mixed with Kabbalah which is antithetical to scripture.....so rejecting any bad or unproveable or uninspired theology (extracted and then recompiled from scripture or just plain mysticism) but accepting God's pure Torah. That is getting back to God's ways and declining 'traditions of men' (on all sides-both bad Christian theology and bad modern Judaism theology). I basically want to call out that 'Judaism' is not analogous to 'God's Torah'.....and modern Judaisms are not equivalent to first century Judaisms. We need leaders who will help people with new understandings and training directly from Torah, not mystics, pagans, or Greeks. These are rare. I think David Wilbur does a great job in this. Great interview! I used to go to Church of the Open Door.

I think it is super-important to be able to distinguish between what is truly, truly Divine and what is man-made; what is "of the world" and what is NOT "of the world"; what is 'natural' and what is NOT 'natural'. All possible religions, "isms" and practices have an instruction set (that its disciples are supposed to follow) that is distinguishable from all other instruction sets. There are NO EXCEPTIONS! Even the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster has a "gospel" and a set of "instructions" and it is distinguishable from the instruction set of "Jeet Kune Do" and the instruction set of Mormonism. Here is an excerpt of Deuteronomy 4 (emphasis added and comments added by me) that highlights the distinction between what is Divine and what is man-made. IMO, one of the MOST important commands in the Torah is Dt 4:2... 2"You must not ADD TO OR SUBTRACT FROM what I command you, so that you MAY keep the commandments of YHVH your God that I am giving you." This critically important command was taken away in rabbinical Judaism and mountains of man-made stuff was added to the Torah as if it came from God Himself! And Jesus highlights this in passages like Mt 15:1-9, Mk 7:1-13, and Mt 23:1-4 where He directly commanded us to practice and observe the Torah of YHVH AND NOT to do what the Pharisees do, which is practice and observe man-made laws, doctrines and traditions. 2You must not add to or subtract from what I command you, so that you may keep the commandments of the LORD your God that I am giving you. Here is the beautiful excerpt of Dt 4: 11You came near and stood at the base of the mountain, a mountain blazing with fire to the heavens, with black clouds and deep darkness. 12And YHVH SPOKE TO YOU OUT OF THE FIRE. YOU HEARD THE SOUND OF THE WORDS, BUT SAW NO FORM; THERE WAS ONLY A VOICE. *** A mixed multitude of approximately 3 million people simultaneously and audibly heard God, YHVH, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, speak from the fire!!! AND there is an unbroken chain of witnesses from this very day going all the way back to Moses himself, who testify, "our ancestors (about 3 million of them) heard God speak"!!! AND there is an unbroken chain of high fidelity copies of what Moses wrote at the command of Father YHVH. Has ANYTHING, even remotely close to this, ever happened before or since? Is this natural or supernatural? *** ... 13"He declared to you His covenant, which He commanded you to follow-the Ten Commandments that He wrote on two tablets of stone. 14At that time YHVH COMMANDED ME TO TEACH YOU THE STATUTES AND ORDINANCES YOU ARE TO FOLLOW IN THE LAND THAT YOU ARE CROSSING THE JORDAN TO POSSESS." ... Deuteronomy 4:32-40 32"Indeed, ASK NOW FROM ONE END OF THE HEAVENS TO THE OTHER ABOUT THE DAYS THAT LONG PRECEDED YOU, FROM THE DAY THAT GOD CREATED MAN ON EARTH: HAS ANYTHING AS GREAT AS THIS **EVER** HAPPENED OR BEEN REPORTED? 33HAS A PEOPLE **EVER** HEARD THE VOICE OF GOD SPEAKING OUT OF THE FIRE, AS YOU HAVE, **AND LIVED**? 34OR HAS ANY GOD TRIED TO TAKE AS HIS OWN A NATION OUT OF ANOTHER NATION-by trials, signs, wonders, and war, by a strong hand and an outstretched arm, and by great terrors-as YHVH your God did for you in Egypt, before your eyes? 35You were shown these things so that you would know that YHVH is God; there is no other besides Him. 36He let you hear His voice from heaven to discipline you, and on earth He showed you His great fire, and you heard His words out of the fire. 37Because He loved your fathers, He chose their descendants after them and brought you out of Egypt by His presence and great power, 38to drive out before you nations greater and mightier than you, and to bring you into their land and give it to you for your inheritance, as it is this day. 39Know therefore this day and take to heart that YHVH is God in heaven above and on the earth below; there is no other. 40Keep His statutes and commandments, which I am giving you today, so that you and your children after you may prosper, and that you may live long in the land that YHVH your God is giving you for all time."

Torah soes not command circumcision for non-Jews who do not qualify as per the requirements of the Abrahamic Covenant. After reading the following, do you qualify? B'resheet (Gen) 17:9-14 CJB [9] God said to Avraham, “As for you, you are to keep my covenant, you and your descendants after you, generation after generation. [10] Here is my covenant, which you are to keep, between me and you, along with your descendants after you: every male among you is to be circumcised. [11] You are to be circumcised in the flesh of your foreskin; this will be the sign of the covenant between me and you. [12] Generation after generation, every male among you who is eight days old is to be circumcised, including slaves born within your household and those bought from a foreigner not descended from you. [13] The slave born in your house and the person bought with your money must be circumcised; thus my covenant will be in your flesh as an everlasting covenant. [14] Any uncircumcised male who will not let himself be circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin - that person will be cut off from his people, because he has broken my covenant.” Of course, if God calls a non-Jew to the sanctuary during the Millennial Reign of Messiah physical circumcision will be required but in other cases it depends on the covenant's requirements. The Apostles very clearly established that non-Jews did not require circumcision, even during the age of the functioning temple. But it's different for the Jews regardless of residence.

Regarding Enoch and Elijah...NO man has ascended except Yeshua. That's pretty specific.
@Anon6279616 күн бұрын
@@snappysnap955 yeah, I agree with you. All men die and turn to dust. I believe Lancaster probably holds a traditional view of life after death where your “spirit” goes to dwell in heaven until resurrection. Unless he thinks Elijah and Enoch are special. I’ve noticed a few similar things that these scholars mention that I disagree with but I don’t blame David for not trying to correct most of them since it would probably derail the main topic of conversation.

The taken up the first to establish the second, did happened When The High priest rent his clothes ( in Matthew 26: 65) he lost his right to be the High priest, This made the one who stood before him to be the High priest under a new order. He had said the word behind the Adonai which only the High priest was aloud to say. After his presentation in the heavenly Tabernakel. It went back to the Cohanim.

I understand Acts 2 to be the INAUGURATION of the reNEWed Covenant having been ratified by the blood of the Messiah Yeshua with the Ruach HaKodesh writing the TERMS (i.e. Torah) of the reNEWed Covenant on the "fleshly tablet's" of the Talmadim/Disciples hearts. Obviously it hasn't reached it's fulfillment yet.
@snappysnap9555 күн бұрын
This was really wonderful. So much so, i ordered the book...and the one on Galatians and Ephesians. But for clarity sake, id like to comment that i think using the term Judaism for Torah or biblical faith is very confusing and unhelpful. It is never once refetred to as Judaism is Scripture. Judaism in my mind, much like mainstream Christianity, is a hybrid of Scripture with manmade tradition. I also find generically using the term Jews unhelpful as well. I guess if you are just preaching to the chior and everybody is already on the same page, it's not much of an issue. But for those who aren't in the chior, defining your terms and using more specific and distinct language would be helpful for the purposes of sharing.

I thank God that I immersed none of you, except Crispus and Gaius, For Messiah sent me not to immerse, but to proclaim the Good News-not with cleverness of speech, so that the cross of Messiah would not be made of no effect.” 1 Corinthians 1:13-14, 17 TLV

The levite Priesthood is not canceled. Jesus' adopting others as Christians makes them Levites and Issacharians by default and definition. Every Christian is a Levite and an Israelite. Normally you can't be both without Blasphemy but Jesus Christ makes it's legal to claim both when it's a Capital Crime to claim to be what one ain't.
